About this project
All Stretch Goals have been unlocked - so the £32 pledge level now gets you a full set of 10 Dwarf character models!
The Oathsworn: Heroes of the Dwarfs project will produce a set of five high quality metal Dwarf miniatures - and if we hit our Stretch goals, we will be producing a total of 10 individual character models.
All the miniatures are being sculpted to be suitable for 28mm scale gaming, so will be around 21 to 23mm to the top of their heads.
The miniatures are being sculpted by myself, Michael Lovejoy - I'm a professional sculptor with 13 years experience in the industry, working in a variety of scales and styles.
My aim is to make top quality character figures, which will be perfect for tabletop wargaming, as roleplaying characters, or simply as a miniature piece of art for figure painters and collectors.
I've been a big fan of fantasy literature and gaming for most of my life, and my favourite fantasy race are the Dwarfs. I like to think of every Dwarf as an individual character, and I'm trying to get that sense of personality across in the sculpts. I'll be posting images of the finished sculpts over the course of this Kickstarter project.
Here's the sculpts of all 10 Dwarfs ( the initial 5, and the 5 unlocked stretch goals):
After careful thought, we've decided we can do all 10 figures with the basic £3000 project goal. So we're unlocking all 5 stretch figures now. This means the £32 pledge now gets you 10 Dwarf character figures!
Because all the Stretches are unlocked, we've done some Add-on Goals. These are a bit different, in that they are not added automatically to your pledge, they have to be paid for. They cost £3 a figure, and can be added to the £23 (5 dwarfs) and £32 (10 dwarfs) pledge levels. Lower level pledges can't get the add-ons because it would mess up the postage rates, and all get a bit complicated...
The 6 Add-on figures are now finished, and here's the pictures:
If you want to add a them to your pledge, just increase your pledge by £3 a figure.
Thanks for taking the time to look at our project.
Risks and challenges
The risks involved are mostly in the production phase - occasionally a sculpt won't mould correctly, or will break in the mould, and need re-sculpting. These problems could lead to a delay in getting the figures posted out.
I do have many years experience in sculpting figures for production though, so know which materials to use, and how to avoid moulding issues.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
