We've been pushing regular major patches on Steam Early Access about once per month and updating the Dev Update thread on the Steam forums regularly with our progress, patch notes, and details of what we're currently working on.
We've also been releasing regular dev update articles both on the main blog and here on Kickstarter, the last one being posted on December 20th and the next coming any day now after the next patch goes live. You can find those dev updates in the Updates section here on Kickstarter, but they should also have been emailed to the address linked to your Kickstarter account.
If you haven't been getting the updates via email for the past 8 months, it's likely that your Kickstarter email settings have been changed or your email provider may be incorrectly putting them in your spam folder. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do for you!
@Journeyman - Apologies, we didn't see your message until just now. The latest published ETA is that we aim to be feature-complete during February, after which we have additional content (such as Kickstarter backer content) to get started on and we'll begin polishing on the UI and focusing more heavily on balancing/feedback/bugfixing until we feel the game is ready for full-scale release. We've had some unexpected real life stuff that has got in the way this month, but we're back working twice as hard to catch up and still aiming for feature-complete by the end of February.

The Steam Early Access has only been live for five days and we've been manually processing key requests submitted via the web form since it went live. All requests coming in from the form have now been fulfilled but it's being reported that the form unfortunately hasn't worked for everyone.
We're now asking that anyone who wants a Steam key and hasn't got one yet could please email firstname.lastname@example.org and provide your Kickstarter/Paypal email address and we'll get your key to you as soon as possible. I apologise for the inconvenience, there was no indication that the form was not working for a percentage of people.
Two weeks later, has anyone got Steam keys?
SO looking forward to seeing the combined version of the modules! Don't drink TOO much this New Years, get back to work! :P

To put your fears to rest, I can assure you that this is not going to be the case. As the Early Access is our first public release for general sale, we'll be giving all backers at the $20 pre-order level and above access to it if they want it. Many will want to wait until version 1.0 is complete with all the features and content completed, but that's up to each person to decide.
Our beta tier backers have had a lot of exclusive time testing the modular betas of the game so far and for helping us get to public release, we're looking into some additional bonus or special recognition we can give all of them. They're already getting a bonus gift copy of the game for a friend as part of their pledge tier and access to beta versions of any expansions, modding tools and level design tools we make, but a special mention in the game credits or something similar might be a nice gesture.
If anyone else has any problems or queries about the game or your pledges, please send us a message here on Kickstarter and we'll do our best to help.
So delayed for over a year and people who buy early access will get the game before me. Will never support this company again if that happens

Just dropping a comment for anyone checking back on the Kickstarter's progress. This month's development update has been delayed as we're putting the finishing touches on the first stage of the beta!
The first beta stage will be a test of the Tactical Fleet Combat part of the game. We had hoped to get this released by the end of August or start of September, but after internal testing we've decided it needs a few more days of work to make some usability improvements and an in-game tutorial.

Have not looked at your user interface yet, but I did want to comment on what I find most 4x games get wrong.
Most important thing in a user interface is transparent rules.
I should not have to read an instruction manual, scour forums, or run simulations to figure out what effect any decision of mine will have.
Video games could stand to learn a lot from tabletop board games in this respect.
In a tabletop board game, all of the rules have to be somewhere.
Video games should be the same way.
It should not be a mystery why action X resulted in outcome Y.
I would avoid damage type vs. armor type charts, (warcraft 3, sins of a solar empire).
Instead, come up with rules that make sense.
If they make sense, they will be easy to remember without having to memorize a chart.
A contrived alternative to damage charts:
Defender takes damage of: Attacker Positron Particle Beam Value minus defender Magnetic Shield Value
Defender takes damage of: Attacker Mass Driver Value minus defender Armor Plating Value
Defender takes damage of: Attacker Laser value minus defender Reflective Hull value
If you feel you MUST use damage type charts, at least make sure they are very easy to find in the user interface.

There's an update coming your way soon - Brendan was in Iceland for EVE Online's Fanfest as he still holds his writing job at Massively and they needed him to cover the event, so now he's back he'll post his update soon!
Would be nice to see some live signs again because the last public info I can find is from 30. March and we have now already May.
(Usualy I hope for a update once around each month for the still unreleased KS I have pledged)

Yay, how often will updates come around during production?
There's an update being written as we speak! It's been a hectic couple of weeks, and we've been having plenty of meetings about local funding opportunities. We've also been sharing our story with local businesses and people interested in games development. Brendan is working hard to meet his programming deadlines, we've designed the reptile race (update coming soon with that) and we have more concept art and 3D modelling done!

Yeah, I'm generating all the surveys today, but feel under no pressure to fill them out until you're ready! Just don't leave them to the wire, since that means your name suggestion / idea may already be claimed (those are first-come, first served in any cases of clashes, though we don't envision any problems there). I'd say you could comfortably leave it for a month or two if needed!

We'll do a big Kickstarter roundup tomorrow and will be contacting everyone to confirm their rewards and get all your details! The Paypal will stay up tonight and part of tomorrow for anyone who just missed the end of the campaign, and after that we'll be reducing the Paypal to just the standard pre-order at $20.
For now we have to eat and sleep and try to absorb the enormity of it all, we just can't believe the massive support for Predestination! We will absolutely be sure to do all of you justice :D
