Apologies for not updating for a few weeks.
We are nearly there with Persona though it's taken a little longer than I'd hoped to get it right. The tool tuning of the Trim Mouldings went through several iterations before we were happy with the fit. The Trims have now been run and bright chrome plated are being collected from the Chrome plating vendor today, so final assembly should begin early next week.
Some of the Trims will need to now be sent to the PVD vendor for bright gold and PVD coating. Those are the Trims for Avant Garde models only, and this process is expected to take around another week.
Another moulding that you will find in your Persona, is an internal moulding that we call a Glue Gasket. Although the Glue Gasket is internal and rarely seen, it serves a number of vital roles.
1. It accurately locates the Upper & Lower Shells prior to riveting.
2. It provides a silky plastic surface for the edge of your credit cards when they are being slid in and out of Persona, and
3. It provides a polymeric surface that allows the Trim moulding to be solvent weld bonded to it thereby ensuring a secure and snug fit to the body shells.
The Glue Gaskets have been tuned and production quantities run ready for final assembly.
All Persona aluminium shells have been completed right up to laser engraving stage, which is happening right now and should be complete today or tomorrow. We did have a few hiccups with the anodising of the shells, particularly the hard anodise champagne colour, but these problems have now been corrected.
The above pics show the completed hard anodise black and natural decorative anodise upper wheels completed and ready for final assembly.
As it stands, we expect to be doing final assembly of Personas next week and shipping to you the following week.
Thanks once again for your patience and support.
