Now, onto the making of the cover for Treachery in Beatdown City + more art

The cover!
The cover!

We wanted this cover to feature things from the first act of Treachery in Beatdown City. In it the President gets kidnapped, you meet with the billionaire mayor. A biker gang is enraged and chases you through East Fulton and there may even be a NinjaDragon Terrorist waiting in a helicopter to try and take you out!

This cover is completely hand drawn/painted on paper by Diana Santiago.

We detailed this a little before, but all of these images can be clicked on to get a bigger picture of the details that go into making such a large piece of physical art.

Each picture is made separately and lined up for the end composition.

Laying down the authority figures first
Laying down the authority figures first

Diana has laid out the entire painting in pencil, and has begun working on Mike Moneybags and President Barak Orama. She also began working on parts of the background. Water color isn't a layer based paint, so she has to do everything in parts.

Then start filling in the heroes

Bruce is the first hero that Diana starts on, then moving onto Lisa.

The buildings required a certain level of hours long patience to complete. All of the white space had to be left naturally when painting the buildings around it.

Diana uses a combination of biker photos, the pixel art and concept art reference for drawing the biker gang. Each biker on the poster is individual and represents one of the enemies that you will fight in game!

For $400 Diana will draw a picture on paper using watercolor, ink and/or colored pencil of any character in the game just for you, and sign it! This will be a large picture, measuring at least a foot in height, and it will be framed.   (plus get everything in the DEV TIER!)

For $500 Diana will draw a picture of YOU! This will also be at least a foot in height, and will be framed and signed as well. (plus get everything in the DEV TIER!)

ART BOOK As an add-on

The digital art book will feature this poster art, and more! It can be added to any tier for $20. So Brawler tier ($15 Game) + Digital Art book ($20) (with no soundtrack) = $35

Or if you JUST want the artbook, throw in $20 and select no reward, we will send out a survey in the end.

 And now, a shout out!

The Breakout caught my eye because of it's interesting style before anything, the A-team music cues pushed it over the top into "I have to show this to people" territory. Prison can be a tricky thing to tackle, but this game seems to balance the seriousness and consequences with having a bit of a light hearted side, as well.

Check it!
