About fulfillment for UK

Ladies & Gentlemen from the United Kingdom,

With the Brexit looming around, we had to be on the cautious side when it came to shipping your rewards, having to assume the worst.

Now, we have some good news: with so many backers from UK, we have already figure out a way to make sure that you won't be "hit" by any special customs or VAT or anything of that kind.

We have a clear plan to use a logistics center inside the UK, so that all your rewards are shipped locally. Whether Brexit happens or not, whether there will be an agreement with EU or not, you're safe from the fulfillment point of view (OK, you still have to worry about everything else, but that's the least we can do).

We will work with GamesQuest so that all UK rewards come from inside UK, so for sure you won't have to pay crazy taxes. Also, your shipping costs will be on par with EU shipping costs.

Have a great weekend,

Andrei

Yeah I've had better experience with items sent via gamesquest who actually manage to send out items in decent packaging unlike say Happyshops who have sadly gotten worse, last 3 KS items, founders of gloomhaven, minerva and empires of the void sent by them have turned up in terrible condition.

Mileage may vary for folk but I'd much rather have a game turn up without holes and water damage.

Leder Games I believe aren't using them for their current project (Root) after their experiences with Vast: The Crystal Caverns. I think another developer said they weren't using them again either (might have been Thunderworks who make Roll Player).

I will say that the last thing I got from them, Roll Player, was well packaged. I think that was in part due to the game developer insisting on this as I've had stuff previously that wasn't so well packaged.

GameQuest, great if you order directly from them, quick, no problems. Kickstarter fulfilment terrible. Have a chat with Final Frontier Games. They are never using them again and may have some choice words to say about them also!

I don't think I've had any issue except lateness from gamesquest projects, but I certainly prefer other options if you find them ^^. (Spiral Galaxy Games are always super prompt and very helpful, but maybe they cost more for that, I have no clue :P).

Those of you who have backed NSKN Games projects in the past already know that we're not leaving anyone behind, and we close a project after all rewards have been delivered. GQ or not, it is our responsibility to deliver and we will simply do that.

For what it is worth - I don't care who sends the games out - as long as any issues with damaged boxes and or missing/damaged components are correctly addressed within a reasonable timescale.
Having backed some Queen KS's I am aware that getting problems rectified can be difficult e.g. refusing to replace damaged boxes for 'Collectors Editions'!!! Other backers are still reporting missing components many months after fulfillment. NB Queen did eventually resolve my own issues.

I've had loads of KS projects fulfilled by Gamesquest and haven't had any problems. I love the fact that they use Royal Mail who treat parcels way better than the couriers that (some) other fulfilment companies use.

That's enough to make me cancel my pledge! GQ are awful! I've had two badly delayed KS games and one never turned up! Try Spiral Galaxy Games instead, they are part of a Gameslore who are the largest and best board game supplier in the U.K. Never had an issue and always arrives next day without fail and packed very well, never received a damaged game. I'd pay a little extra for tracked parcel. Will seriously debate whether to pull out now coz they make peoples live a misery when waiting for a package. 🙁

GQ havent been great, but not a disaster either. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, and thanks for making this happen (re the taxes)

I used to be critical of Gamesquest after having a couple of KS deliveries were delayed due to "communication issues" between them and the KS leader. I stress "communication issues" as we only hear one side of the story from the KS leader but there was clearly some misunderstanding between GQ and the KS leader. So are GQ really the problem? That is had to say as we usually hear only one side of the story. Yes I believe in all probability that some of the issues have been directly due to games quest (like moving a warehouse and several KS projects shipments to be processed at the same time due to delays in the original manufacturing for some of the projects). But I think some of the problems also lay squarely with KS leader (eg corruption of the address files when they arrive at GQ) and in others both are culpable. So lets not go overboard on the GQ bashing. Since the initial delivery issues (whoever is responsible) I have had a number of projects come through GQ and they have been timely and with good tracking. In fact better than some other routes.

I've never had any issues with GQ.

I think I'd rather pay the extra than have it come via GQ...

Yeah, echoing the comments below. Please rethink GQ and use a different U.K. distributor.....

Your feedback is appreciated and we are always looking at other options. We won't defend GQ blindly, but we have a way of working with them which has proved efficient in the past. Shadowscape (2000 backers) was shipped on time, and even though it was a rather small box and it went out without tracking, less than 0.5% of packages has issues. In any case, we will address your concerns and have more options on the table. What is important for you to know is that UK backers will receive rewards from inside UK and let us worry about the timing ;)

Oh no …. the dreaded GQ :(

    17. Martok on

I was going to say hurray! Then I saw the dreaded word - Gamesquest. :-(

Gamesquest have had a disappointing record this year with Kickstarter campaigns. There have been delays in games being sent out, they have lied about when games going out have completed, there have been missing items (they claim that they haven't received them and I've had 2 campaigns now where this has happened - Vast: The Crystal Caverns where there were supposedly insufficient stock sent to them and now Dragoon where supposedly 100+ large "box of everything" have disappeared). They are slow and late with their dispatching of games, their tracking at times leaves a lot to be desired and I think you'll find that quite a few KS regulars won't be thrilled about Gamesquest being the UK handler.

There are other UK-based distributors such as Spiral Galaxy Games (and I think BoardGameGuru and GamesLore have also done some distribution). If it's not too late I would encourage you to look at other options.

@Ben. Yeah :( Maybe GQ will have got their finger out their arse by the time this is being fulfilled but I won't be holding my breath. This news has added another month to the estimated delivery date.

Now all you have to worry about is GamesQuest being involved in the fulfilment...
