A complete playthrough and review by Anthony and Frances from the Ant Lab Games channel:
Chronicles of Frost will be produced by our partners Whatz Games in Shanghai, China. This will be our 8th project together. So far, they have manufactured for NSKN Games the following board games:
The quality they are able to deliver speaks for itself, and even though they have our full trust, we are still going to be present on site, at the factory, to approve the proofs in person, and to do a physical check of the first game boxes coming out of the assembly line.
The quality we've been able to deliver together is further emphasized by the very small error rate: in average, for our past products, we have less than 0.4% defective products, way below industry average (1-3%).
On our side, we have completed all the artwork for Chronicles of Frost and our illustrator is on stand by in case we need to add more art due to stretch goals - and this depends entirely on You ㋡. After the project ends we plan to deliver the final files to the factory within 5 weeks and then proceed to production, which will account for 2-3 month, as the holidays season will be upon us.
As soon as production is over, we will ship containers to our fulfillment centers. Our current plan is to ship rewards from 2 or 3 different locations. Backers from North America and Europe will receive their rewards from UK and possibly USA, while everyone else will get their game boxes from Poland. We can deliver packages which are either customs free, or with a value below the threshold for customs taxes and/or VAT to: EU, USA, Australia, New Zealand, most of Asia, Middle East and South America.
Our rather conservative deadline for delivery accounts for both the Western holidays as well as for the Chinese New Year. These present together the biggest potential to cause unforeseen delays.
Risks and challenges
NSKN Games has been publishing quality board games since 2011. We entered Kickstarter in 2014 with our first project: Progress: Evolution of Technology - which was the first of a string of games (including two grand expansions) delivered to our backers without major delays.
With ten successful Kickstarter projects to our name, we are making use of our experiences to constantly improve our process, while decreasing any potential risks. Now, during our eleventh Kickstarter campaign, we already know the ropes, and we have the knowledge and the experience to face any possible challenges in our way.
Backers from Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and most locations in Central America will most likely receive their rewards later than the rest of the backers. Backers from these regions will receive packages from Poland, send via local postal services. These packages are sometimes sent via surface mail, thus it may take up to 3 months for these packages to reach their destinations.
Once again we will be working with tried and true partners, whose procedures and production cycles we know intimately. Our current partnerships include fulfillment companies in the Europe and North America.
However, in the unlikely event of anything going wrong, we have contingencies in place, as well as some spare time to deal with unexpected events. Still, an absolute worst case scenario may add a total of 15 to 30 days to delivery.
We are producing, packing and shipping large quantities of games, so there is always a chance of human error or damaging some game components. In any such case, please check our customer support on www.nskn.net, and we will try to resolve the matter swiftly, and to your satisfaction.
