Wizard Duel is a revolutionary game based on original wand fighting dynamics.
This is possible thanks to the Duel Wands, designed to naturally and efficiently throw soft projectiles the same way a wizard or witch would cast a spell.
With several game modes included, Wizard Duel guarantees endless fun as you develop your dueling skills.

This is the main tool you will need in order to play Wizard Duel. Our Duel Wands are full wood, lathe-crafted items; meticulously designed to optimize the projectile throw system and to allow the user perfectly immersive duels. Aesthetically comparable (even superior) to ornamental, non functional replicas, this detailed reproduction of the classic magic wands makes a luxurious object as beautiful as useful: a treasure for duelists and collectors.
The Duel Wands are made out of noble woods such as breech and jojoba, carefully turned and treated with natural hues and oils.
Our Wands are really easy and intuitive to use. Their unique design fits perfectly soft projectiles, allowing lodging them easily and launching them accurately with a simple movement of the hand. This method has a huge technique development range, making Wizard Duel not only a game but a whole new discipline.
Each basic set includes 2 standard Duel Wands, ready to play. Deluxe additional wands are eligible between the available designs, which will be unlocked through the stretch goals and purchased as an add-on when the campaign is over.
The further we get, the more variety you have to choose!
For the core Wizard Duel game, each player starts with a full set of elemental seals placed on its chest frames with the magnetic attachment. This seals are the axis of the magic power, and duelist will fight to break each other’s away. Of course, this will not be easy while trying to preserve their own unbroken as long as possible.
There are five different elemental seals in the basic set: air, water, void, fire and earth.
Each basic set includes 2 complete scroll decks, meant to play the core Wizard Duel game mode and variants. One for each player (red and blue), each one includes 50 cards with 20 different spells the duelist can use in combat.
There are 2 different categories of spells in each deck:
- Elemental spells (25 per deck, 5 different spells): This spells allow the duelist to destroy the correspondent rival’s elemental seals with a hit. A duelist must cast successfully at least one elemental spell of each kind in order to win a duel.
- Effect spells (25 per deck, 15 different spells): This spells inflict effects on the duelist, his rival or both; effect spells are strategic pillars which use may determine and completely twist the outcome of a duel.
Combine them strategically to defeat your rival and master the art of spell casting.
A limited edition of Wizard Duel will be available Kickstarter only for backers. This deluxe edition has its own design and comes with a limited serial number. All its components display a distinctive elegant look and the whole box will be hand crafted and carefully finished as a unique collector piece.
Also, the two Duel Wands in this set will be elegible between the Deluxe designs regardless of the stretch goals achieved.
Of course, every functional aspect of the game will be included in this version, including the basic stretch goals and the specific ones for this reward; and all pledgers in this level will be displayed in the Spell Master Wall in our website and our networks.
The Arcanist Set is an extremely limited numbered pack for hardcore duelists and collectors. This wooden box includes:
- One copy of each game set (Basic and Premium version)
- The complete Duel Wands collection (Gladius, Pulsar, Filum, Phobos and Deimos) with a special finish and a commemorative branding
- Two sets of the special Arcanist edition of the Elemental Seals
- Two Wand Scabbards
- Two Duelist Bracelets (Red and Blue)
- One copy of the Arcanist Book, a summary of files that goes deeper into the technique, the origin and the background of magic fighting
- Ten portable bullseyes in Red and Blue
- Three large size deluxe targets with exclusive foe designs

- The Arcanist Case, a high quality wooden chest that encases the whole pack

Wizard Duel basic set includes a core game for two players and several additional games.
You can pledge for up to 2 additional wands eligible between the unlocked designs to play multiplayer game modes and bring the fight to the next level!
· WIZARD DUEL CORE GAME ·
Choose your deck color and place your elemental seals on its magnetic chest frames, facing your opponent. Draw your first hand and place it in your side slots, grab your spell charges and pick up your Duel Wand.
Salute each other and step away the accorded distance (15 to 30 feet/ 5 to 10 meters for reference) leaving the neutral area (the box) between you.
The duel begins!
The Duel develops through dynamic combat rounds, following four simple steps.
Draw scrolls from your deck until you fill your side slots (four scrolls in total), grab spell charges and go to your starting spot. When both duelist are on guard, at the count of three, combat begins.
Use your Duel Wand to throw the spell charges to your rival and hit him before he does. Choose a spell from your hand pronouncing it out loud to make the following throws valid; you can change your current spell this way whenever you want. In case of impact, the last spell pronounced will apply.
Any impact on the body or clothes of your rival is considered a hit. Impacts on the Duel Wand or the hand wielding it are considered blocked.
You can harvest spell charges freely. A hit must be announced out loud (with a “hit” or a simple “argh!”) and ends the combat. If a hit duelist has a spell already charged on his Wand at the moment of the impact, he has the right to a last-chance throw.
Duelists who got a valid hit announce the effect of the spell to their rival. In case of double hit, each duelist suffers the effect of the correspondent spell. In case a seal has been destroyed, remove it from its frame and put it into the chest.
Each duelist discards two scrolls to the discard pile besides his deck. Any valid hit spell must be one of the discarded scrolls; otherwise, duelist chooses both discarded scrolls. The round is over.
The first duelist to destroy all rival’s elemental seals wins the duel.
Wizard Duel includes several game modes adaptable for different complexity, number of players, spaces or time spans.

We come from Spain and we know lots of our backers are Spanish speaking.
That's why every Wizard Duel Set includes two reference sheets with all the Spells description in Spanish, which allows to play withouth any problem even if you don't speak English.
If we raise enough funding to edit it in both English and Spanish (check the stretch goals below), the fully translated version of the game will be available through the pledge manager at the end of the campaign.
In case the campaign succeeds, we have already developed a number of expansions, accessories and upgrades to enrich our game dynamics. We are ready to set them out as soon as the game is funded, and they will allow you to explore the whole potential of the Wizard Duel universe.

Such a singular game has a potential for the organization of tournaments and exhibitions, and we are willing to coordinate and promote this kind of events as soon as possible. We are NovaCorp Games, a studio recently created in Santander, a little town of the north of Spain. Our team is composed by a bunch of geeks who love video games, RPG, LARP and fantasy in general.
As users, we’ve tried a lot of simulation games: softcombat lets us be knights, swordsmen or gladiators; airsoft puts you in the shoes of a modern soldier; escape rooms makes you experience a self-contained adventure.
But we felt there was something missing: there isn’t any realistic simulation game out there that makes you feel actual magic action. When we asked some experts in wizard-ambience LARP designers how they simulated magic combat, and their answer was they just dramatized the fights with imagination or by throwing colored plastic balls to represent spells.
We realized then the world needed an accurate and physical system that represented this scenario realistically.
Months of trials, design and development later, we created Wizard Duel to fill this gap.
Wizard Duel is possible thanks to the NovaCorp Games team, but not less to our friends and collaborators. We want to thank specially those who have guided us and made this campaign possible: true professionals and beloved friends.
Juan Andreu Giménez – The craftsman who has brought our first designs to live. Turner master, his wood crafted art reflects his experience and talent. We are eager to bring him the means to expand the Wizard Duel universe by the hand of a true traditional artist.
MUBIEN Design and Bookbinding Studio – For 30 years the Carrillo family (Eduardo, Víctor and David) have managed this studio in our hometown, Santander; providing a top quality service at design, branding and bookbinding. They’ve blended traditional crafting with modern techniques, and mastered both of them in a singular and distinguished way. Lowrider Studio – Cristian “Lowrider” is our particular Scorsese. Local filmmaker and one-man-army, his perish with the camera has made possible lots of the AV material we’ve got. His fame in music video making is more than proven, and we are really glad to count on him as an ally in our trip.
Luis Iglesias Creativity Lab – One of our closest collaborators, Luis Iglesias is a nationally recognized designer whose generous help in the technical aspects of the Wizard Duel design has been essential. He’s a beloved part of this family, both figuratively and literally.
Sandra Callejas (Lady Inspiration) - This astonishing artist is our most valuable art adviser. We have worked together in previous projects and her talent and experience have been priceless for our design developement. We are really excited about working along and count on her expertise for upcoming projects and expansions.
Cristina San Miguel Digón – Jewell designer and craftsman, her advice and ability with the 3D technology has made possible the first steps of our Duel Wands design. Her valuable ideas have opened us to great possibilities we are eager to develop.

Since we started developing the Duel Wands and the game, we’ve faced a meticulous planning considering the best and most reliable options to make it possible.

Our funding goals are aimed to perfecting our product to its best. Both functionally and aesthetically, we count on an expert team to work with. We aim for a precious design and the best manufacturing quality. We are working with top tier companies to produce the game components with the best detail and quality.
We consider our Duel Wands as our “patent pending” little son. We are proud of our creation and compromised with its design and manufacture, which we want to improve and expand as much as we can. We have covered any demand of our game: our goal is to get Wizard Duel to anybody who wants it around the world.
