      Thanks for writing in. We did not continue producing real fur trim as we firmly believe that real fur does not increase protection against cold and we do not support the killing of animals for simply decorative purposes. With that said, our faux fur on Smart Parka 1.0. is much bigger than the previous version and it’s pretty close to the look and feel of the real fur. It looks great!

      My two parkas never came and NA promised to send new ones in Oct/Nov 2017 but just stringed me along with fake FedEx and UPS tracking ids. Now it is 2018 and parkas should have come during 2016. They have stopped responding to emails too!

It was branden then John them Richard... over a year, no refund money yet. My last email from Richard says they will process all refund by September 2018.       great idea, in theory, doesn’t change much of the practicality. In Smart Parka 1.0. we focused more on improving the quality of the features that actually

      make it a great coat, like gloves, scarf, fabric, water resistance and insulation.

      Do you use real fur on the coats?

      We only use faux fur (synthetic fur) on our coats, as we firmly believe that real fur does not increase protection against cold and we do not support the

      Does Smart Parka 1.0. has removable lining and length extension?

      For Smart Parka 1.0. we decided to get rid of the length extension and lining. The reason was mostly aesthetic. We wanted our coats to have less moving

      parts and a solid look and presence. We found the length extension to be less appealing and most feedback was not positive. Removable lining, although a

      great idea, in theory, doesn’t change much of the practicality. In Smart Parka 1.0. we focused more on improving the quality of the features that actually

      make it a great coat, like gloves, scarf, fabric, water resistance and insulation.

      Do you use real fur on the coats?

      We only use faux fur (synthetic fur) on our coats, as we firmly believe that real fur does not increase protection against cold and we do not support the

      killing of animals for simply decorative purposes. With that said, our faux fur on Smart Parka 1.0. is much bigger than the previous version and it’s pretty

      close to the look and feel of the real fur. It looks great!

      Are your coats animal free?

      We use duck down and leather gloves with 100% Cashmere lining in Smart Parka 1.0. Our Smart Parka is 100% animal free except the men’s vogue and

      only if you order fabric gloves with it.

      Is the Smart Parka machine washable?

      No, our coats are dry clean only.

      Our refund window is closed, but we will be happy to send you your coat. Please email us for more details.

      Really sad! Instead of honesty, you only get a default text preset. We were good enough to give our money to start a (your) business. Many promises were made and unfortunately not kept. In addition, you write on Kickstarter should you write down what many of us have done several times before and what is coming? Nothing or just wrong promises. How about honesty? Or are you afraid to give false promises again? Kickstarter should be ashamed! Who gives money here gets zero support.

      Wirklich traurig! Anstatt ehrlichkeit, bekommt man nur einen Standardtext vorgesetzt. Wir waren gut genug um unser Geld zu geben um ein (euer) Unternehmen zu Gründen. Viele Versprechen wurden gegeben und leide rnicht eingehalten. Dazu kommt das Ihr auf Kickstarter schreibt man soll euch anschreiben, was viele von uns siche rmehrfach getan haben und was kommt? Nichts oder nur falsche versprechen. Wie wäre es mal mit Ehrlichkeit? Oder habt ihr angst damit wieder falsche versprechen zu geben? Auch Kickstarter sollte sich wa schämen! Wer hier geld gibt bekommt null unterstützung.

      Backing this company was the worst decision ever!

      After pledging in March 2016, the jacket I received 4 months late in Jan 2017 was the wrong one. After returning it and getting confirmation from Brendan Panikkar (VP, Customer Service) that it was received in March 2017, I was given shady excuses about the production facility being closed for the summer and the returns couldn't be processed until September.

      In October 2017, after following up again since I'd heard nothing from North Aware, Richard Cuddy (Client Care Manager) sent the following message:
      "We are in the process of issuing refunds to our kick-starter backers on a first come first serve basis. We expect to process all remaining refund requests by the end of September 2018. Thank you for your patience we will let you know as soon as your refund is processed."

      I wasn't sure if the "September" or the "2018" in that message was the typo, because in what reality would it seem acceptable for a company to provide a refund over a year after it was requested by the customer.

      - North Aware has had my money for 2 years.
      - The product I was sent was incorrect. Even if the correct product was sent, the design had so significantly changed from the original advertised product to be undesirable.
      - My return was received by North Aware 11 months ago.
      - I'm being asked to wait another 7 months (1.5 years total since return) for a refund?!?

      Jamil Khan should be embarrassed. His company has no customer care, no transparency with its customers, and no design integrity with its advertised product.

      Also, for everyone on here — tried filing a complaint with the BBB but since we're KS backers, they consider the complaint out of scope. This was the response...

      "Unfortunately, we are unable to pursue your complaint as it is not a typical market place transaction. Crowd funding is considered an investment in a concept or idea and is beyond the scope of BBB. You may wish to contact Industry Canada at 1-800 348-5358 and/or consult with legal counsel."
