      I sent in my unused smart parka and gloves two months ago at my own expense for exchange and have gotten no replies back from anyone since. Did you people just steal my jacket plus shipping??

      -Offers to return the remaining funds (if any) to sponsors who have not received their reward (in proportion to the amounts of each contribution) or explain how these funds will be used to finalize the project alternatively.

      KICKSTARTER RULES 1-2-3

      -If a creator can not finalize your project and deliver the rewards, you will be deemed to have breached your basic obligations under this agreement.

      -To remedy this situation, you must make every effort to find another way to achieve the best possible conclusion of the project for the sponsors. A creator who is in this situation will only have rectified the situation and satisfied his obligations with the sponsors if:

      -Publishes an update explaining what part of the work has been done, how the funds have been used and what prevents it from completing the project as planned;

      -Works diligently and in good faith to bring the project to the best possible conclusion within a period of time communicated to the sponsors;
      You can demonstrate that you have used the funds in the most appropriate way and that you have made every effort to finalize the project as promised;

      -Has been sincere and has made no false statement in its communications with its sponsors.

      -Offers to return the remaining funds (if any) to sponsors who have not received their reward (in proportion to the amounts of each contribution) or explain how these funds will be used to finalize the project alternatively.

      -The creator is solely responsible for keeping his promises in all matters relating to his project. If you can not comply with the terms of this agreement, you will be subject to legal actions that may be undertaken by the sponsors.

      So ...where do I begin. This is a nightmare. I had ordered 3 coats....returned one back in February and still do not have a refund. the emails are ridiculous and they keep asking the same questions and then say the warehouse is closed til October. I will never back another Kickstarter project because of the run around these people have given everybody. They are not very honest and don't deserve to have the support of the people who got their company off the ground. Very Very Disappointing.

      For those just arriving here: get as much information on this project and on North Aware as you can: don't be put off by all the FAQ copies below, do make sure you browse through the comments so you will get a good picture of how badly this company treats its customers. After your project has been funded, you can cancel and refund a backer’s pledge at any time. If you do, you have no further obligation to that specific backer, and no agreement exists between you.” (Section 5)).

      backer # 6111 here. you've got my e-mail address and plenty of open tickets demanding a refund, so don't give me "I would really like to find a solution that works for you. Please email info @ northaware.com and we can work towards that" again. Please settle this here and now on KickStarter.
      It's been over a year now since i backed North Aware by ordering a coat.
      The coat was never delivered, and i cancelled my order since.
      NA / Brendan Pannikar wont give me the refund i asked for several times.
      Look at all of North Aware's spam, quoting their faq time and time again,
      pushing all complaints from all customers that feel scammed out of view.
      BUYERS BEWARE ! Next to no positive reviews of North Aware to be found here !

      @Brendan Panikkar: I noticed you like to refer to the Terms of Use of Kickstarter as an excuse for the delays and changes that North Aware made "en route", though at least some of them were not really because "something could happen that prevents the creator from being able to finish the project as promised." Let me remind you of some other items in the same "Terms of Use" of KS:
      - "Don’t lie to people. Don’t post information you know is false, misleading, or inaccurate. Don’t do anything deceptive or fraudulent." (Section 3) : You tell us over and over again that we can « Cancel your order ANYTIME before delivery » which you then later tell us does not apply.
      - “The Estimated Delivery Date is the creator’s estimate. The date listed on each reward is the creator’s estimate of when they will provide the reward — not a guarantee to fulfill by that date. The schedule may change as the creator works on the project.” (Section 5) How is North Aware working on the project apart from waiting for a warehouse key?
      - “You [creator] can refund individual pledges if you want. After your project has been funded, you can cancel and refund a backer’s pledge at any time. If you do, you have no further obligation to that specific backer, and no agreement exists between you.” (Section 5): So there is no legal obligation for NA to send me the parka first!!
      Send me my money pls!!

      @North Aware: the nonsense I have to go through just to try and help NA by backing your project is increadible. Just to note that more than 17 months after I trusted you with my money, the parka (even improved now according to North Aware) still sells at $399, far off the "expected retail price of $740+taxes", with a full cancel and refund guarantee up to three weeks before delivery. What a way to thank the people that made your idea a success.

      I have sent you lots of messages, only to find out that North Aware only proposes "solutions" that work for you. You are not at all interested in finding a solution that works for me/us.
      On March 17th, I agreed to take a coat out of Toronto as proposed by North Aware, if sent within weeks and with the guarantee that all costs would be refunded to me if I decided that the parka would not live up to the expections. When I found out through other backers that delivery would be September or later (6 months), I indeed asked for another solution but NA never wants to find a solution that works for both parties, you only stick to your own nonsense.
      And yes, as you have told me in your FAQ so many times: I DO QUALIFY FOR A REFUND: “You can cancel your order ANYTIME before the delivery of the coat for a 100% refund (minus S&H).”: I hereby cancel my order (backer #2089) for a full refund. Pls send me my money TODAY ! I really don't feel like going through another costly and timeconsuming process of struggling to return the jacket and get the refund. Even in that process you manage to mess up, as so many backers experienced.

      All coats come in Black, Hunter Green and Galaxy Blue. For womens' coats, we offer Candy Red as an extra option.
