      Does Smart Parka 1.0. has removable lining and length extension?

      For Smart Parka 1.0. we decided to get rid of the length extension and lining. The reason was mostly aesthetic. We wanted our coats to have less moving parts and a solid look and presence. We found the length extension to be less appealing and most feedback was not positive. Removable lining, although a great idea, in theory, doesn’t change much of the practicality. In Smart Parka 1.0. we focused more on improving the quality of the features that actually make it a great coat, like gloves, scarf, fabric, water resistance and insulation.

      Do you use real fur on the coats?

      We only use faux fur (synthetic fur) on our coats, as we firmly believe that real fur does not increase protection against cold and we do not support the killing of animals for simply decorative purposes. With that said, our faux fur on Smart Parka 1.0. is much bigger than the previous version and it’s pretty close to the look and feel of the real fur. It looks great!

      We use duck down and leather gloves with 100% Cashmere lining in Smart Parka 1.0. Our Smart Parka is 100% animal free except the men’s vogue and only if you order fabric gloves with it.

      Is the Smart Parka machine washable?

      No, our coats are dry clean only.

      Hi Francis, I have emailed, commented, tweeted etc etc repeatedly and it really has got beyond ridiculous. The last email from you said you would get back to me again after having checked AGAIN. What’s to check ? I gave you money for two coats that I never received which you know I never received and because you took so so long to respond despite my attempts to suggest various options such as sending replacements I was repeatedly ignored and in the end forced to buy myself alternative coats a year ago after which I requested a refund. This was meant with the response that I couldn’t have a refund without being sent coats I no longer needed but could then return for a refund ! Which I’m sure you’ll agree is beyond ridiculous. Quite simply I am owed a refund as you failed miserably to get me my products so do please tell me what exactly you need to look into ?

      Still waiting for my refund, how many years will it actually take ?

      Anyone checking out the comments here after it being flagged up elsewhere PLEASE don’t part with your money to this disgrace of a company they have treated a great many of their original backers and customers appallingly. I myself have never received anything for my money and despite requesting a refund for a year I’m still waiting as well as being blocked on their social media sites!

      I've commented many times asking about when those of us promised a real fur trim will receive it. If I knew I would never receive the real fur I would have never backed the coat/returned it, as frankly the hood is dysfunctional and the trim is too small for the hood.

      Ordered the Parkas on Kickstarter in March 2016
      Received the Parka in Dec 2016, sent it back for exchange in Jan 2017 because the size was WAY OFF
      Still haven’t received my Parka – IT’S 2018!

      I have talked to different people from NA and they all promised me my parka is on the way or that the item I want ran out or there was a warehouse issue
      Given it’s a new company I have waited patiently until it’s winter again and I need my coat
      I asked them to send me the tracking number of my order – and they sent me a fake one! That’s when I knew they have been lying & stalling
      Requested for a refund two months ago and haven’t heard back since.

      I am not a progressive person but this company is so dishonest and people don’t deserve to be scammed this way.

      Wrote again today. 4 days ago they were "investigating" my issue as if it hadn't been dragged out, explained and rehashed in dozens of emails.

      Also, I recommend that other Backers join the Facebook group for North Aware victims. They are looking into bringing a class action law suit.

      Francis, you have to understand that telling people to email you (after they have already done so many, many times) and posting FAQs that NEVER answer their questions is only infuriating everyone more. North Aware needs to take action instead of copying/pasting answers that don't provide any level of service. IT IS INSULTING and a waste of everyone's time and energy including yours.

      What a travesty this company's customer service is. Upon receiving the jacket initially last year and finding it much too large, my dealings with North Aware has been nothing short of painful. They would not give me a refund first so I agreed to getting a new jacket in the correct size. Emailed back and forth for months and then was told they would call me to get my payment information for shipping. Weeks and weeks of prompting and no call ever came in. Then demanded my refund back and they agreed. Have emailed for weeks again and still no refund. I am a superbacker and have participated in hundreds of Kickstarters. Never have I experience such poor backer and customer service.

      Unfortunately my patience has run out. I had a coat issue. Francis called me offering to do an exchange. He told me that if I sent a photo of the postage receipt, the exchange could be processed immediately instead of waiting for the warehouse to receive the coat. He then called me to say they changed their policy because someone sent them a box of paperwork instead of a coat (so everyone must suffer). We are now going on 3 weeks. He claims the warehouse hasn't put my exchange in the system. I have proof it was delivered on Dec 27...today is Jan 5th. I had to borrow a winter coat from someone.

      The sad thing is, I believe in the product. I think it's a great coat but the way North Aware treats it's customers is not acceptable. It seems to them, we are all garbage who were dumb enough to invest in their product. "You'll get it when you get it" is how they seem to handle everything. I'm reading horror stories about people waiting for 6 months to get an exchange. I looked them up on the Canadian Better Business Bureau website and no surprise, they received an "F".

      BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. We should all file a class-action law suit and make sure they do not do business ever again.

      The jacket is nothing like what it's advertised to be! It is ugly, disproportionate and no where near warm enough for a Canadian winter! They have taken money from so many of us, and either never sent us our products, or never gave our money back when we sent the jacket back!
