How are your products temperature rated?
Without lining, our coats are good from -5C to -15C. Temperature ratings for our coats with the lining is -15C to -25C.
Which colours are available in each style?
All coats come in Black, Hunter Green and Galaxy Blue. For womens' coats, we offer Candy Red as an extra option.
Is my personal information safe on your site?
We use 128 bit encryption to make sure that your data is protected. When you enter your information, look for the green safety lock in your browser window.
Is the Smart Parka machine washable?
No, our coats are dry clean only.
What is your refund policy?
You can cancel your order anytime before the delivery of the coat for a 100% refund (minus S&H). After the products are shipped, we have a 30 day return policy. Click here to see how to return your products

What’s the warranty on the coats?
We have a 10 year warranty on workmanship and manufacturing defects.

Make a report on Better Business Bureau...they can't delete those reviews. Currently an F grade with 86% failing mark at BBB. Also make a report to Kickstarter and demand that they no longer allow North Aware to crowdfund. Make some noise people!

North Aware, I hope you realize by ghosting your backers, you are not only setting up a terrible company image, but also committing fraud. Sending emails you obviously aren't replying to and not giving any consideration to your customers is completely unacceptable.

Unfortunately, our we are in the process of moving warehouses and I believe your order has not yet been sent. My sincere apologies for this. We will of course send you Smart Parka immediately once our warehouse opens again. another option I can offer you is to transfer you fund to one of our Smart Parka 1.0 or Selects. I have gotten the same runaround. I am interested in a lawsuit as well. I returned my 2 coats with their approval and now they won't give me the refund. These people are giving me a bad taste in my mouth for Kickstarter projects. Its not worth the risk. I'd rather pay full price when the item is released mainstream. I am so disgusted by Brendan and the way they have handled this company.
I have also just received an email saying that I have to wait until October for a refund. North Aware is asking me to wait 5 months for a refund for a product that I was supposed to receive 5 months ago. This is completely insane. I look forward to the class-action lawsuit.
I have just received the following email, and came here to look at what other backers are going through - it looks like we are all on the same boat (the one that has been abandoned by a shitty overzealous captain) - is it possible to take any legal action against North Aware?
I apologize for the inconvenience. I looked into your account and it looks like your return shipment has not been processed yet. We did our best to process as many shipments as possible, due to the huge volume of Kickstarter orders, not all shipments were processed. Our warehouse is closed for this season. I have put you on priority for processing as soon as our warehouse open for next season. Our warehouse goes fully operational in Oct but we will process your shipment during our prep period in September.
I appreciate your patience. Also, if you like, instead of a refund, I can book you for Smart Parka 1.0. Select, a 90/10 duck down coat with leather gloves (http://preorder.northaware.com) at no additional cost. That’s almost $200 in savings.

You're kidding, right?! I have to now wait until September for a refund of product I returned to you and have proof of delivery?! You're using my cash to fund your business!
This is not cool and it's not how Canadian's go about business, especially reputable businesses! I'd expect this from China or a 3rd world company!
And...no! I will NOT be buying your coats! You lost me when you moved production off Shore and took so long to roll things out. Even more so now with the lack of timely refund!
I'd appreciate a refund immediately for full cost of what I spent!
I have still not received my coat. Sent various emails and no response. I live in U.K. and my coat was stuck in customs. Any in the U.K. actually received their coat????
They will never reopen. Such a company can only go bust..

I took the time to look into your situation and I want to help find a solution that works best for you. There are no more refunds, however, so we will need to work towards a solution that does not involve that.
We have closed our warehouse for the season as we're heading into the spring time. I do know that once we're back open around October, we will be able to send you a new coat.
I will happily write down your details and reach out once the warehouse opens again. At any point between now and then you decide to be booked in for Smart Parka 1.0, please do reach out.

I have now been waiting for my refund for 91 days.
NA received my return on January 17 or so and I received my refund credit back to my Amex at the end of January.
That being said, this is a carnival sideshow.
@Brendan i think you guys need to post an update for all backers who have returned jackets and are now stuck waiting for their refund to be processed.
Anyone who is posting a new comment - most of us have not gotten our refunds. There is a class action law-suit in the works. Scroll waaaaay down to find relevant comments. Also, re-post comments, as NorthAware keeps pasting in this long reply multiple times, I assume to hide negative comments.
All of us in Canada should all organize and sue them for their incredibly shady practices. Looking into small claims court now. Maybe we can get together and see if we can do something together. As it stands Northaware basically stole 300 dollars from me.
North Aware is very shady. You guys told me that you'd give me full refund on the defective coat I got via the Kickstater campaign only to keep me waiting for three months to let me know that my refund will not be honoured. I can't even get a hold of them. Brendan Panikar after he informed me that my return will not be honoured. I sent him the emails from your customer service where I told them that the zipper was defective and I was told I'd get a full refund. I don't to post on your comment sections on Kickstarter, but as of now you guys are coming across very shady.
