2017 Was a Monster
Capital "M" monster actually. Make that monsters, plural. And I've been locked away in the studio all these months combatting the ugly monsters in the real world by painting a cuter, monster-mashier world of my own. My little monsters have become the shield that protects me from that outside ugly, monstrous reality. My own monster safety zone.
Some of the monsters I've been painting understand their significance. They're taking their jobs pretty freakin' seriously and are ready—and willing—to take on the world. They brought up the prospect of spreading the love through cards. Cards? I asked. Greeting cards, they said, that could be sent far and wide to combat the capital "M" monsters and make the people of the world feel safe again.
Okay, I said.
They asked me to step up and raise the funds needed to cover the cost of printing. And although the thought of cute monster butts on copy machines sounded fun enough, I suggested we try a classier route. One that could be displayed with pride on a mantle. It may cost a little more, but I convinced them they're worth it.
Join us in the fight against the uglies. It's time. It's time to take back our monsters. It's time to spread the love.
Risks and challenges
I've used Smartpress for printing jobs in the past, and they do an excellent job of both printing and getting the finished product back to me on time. If all goes as planned, I would like to have monsters in your hands by early February for Valentine's Day distribution.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
