Described by The Guardian as "intellectually curious, funny and rude, possessed of chameleon stage talents and a taste for risk", Nora is the coming together of contemporary dancers Eleanor Sikorski and Flora Wellesley Wesley. The two dancers have put together a programme of bold, hilarious and smart duets created by performance makers Liz Aggiss (UK), Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion (UK), and Simon Tanguy (FR).
These renowned choreographers have worked in the studio with the two young women of Nora to create work especially for them to perform - each piece requiring Eleanor and Flora to physically and intellectually enter a whole new world of performance.
After two sold out world premiere performances at Lilan Baylis Studio, Sadler's Wells Theatre, in November, 2015, Nora is getting ready for her 2016 tour and needs more money to do so. Please help her to get on the road!
"Endearing, intelligent and enterprising", Dance Tabs, of Nora's premiere, Nov 2015.
"It’s great to see these performers with their feisty, feminist agenda owning the stage, rather than decorating it." Josephine Leask, londondance.com, of Nora's premiere, Nov 2015.

The money raised by this campaign will go towards paying for:
- Nora's wonderful rehearsal director, Stephanie McMann, to re-rehearse the three pieces in the new year, and to be with Nora for selected tour dates.
- Studio hire for Nora to re-reheasre the programme ready for touring.
- Nora's technical manager, Seth Rook Williams, to travel with them on tour and run the lights and sound for Nora's shows.
- the hire of radio microphones, used for Simon Tanguy's piece 'Digging'.
- the cost of transport, accommodation and food expenses for Flora, Eleanor, Seth and Stephanie on tour.
- Nora's tour booker, Sarah Trist, to continue her hard work booking performance dates - ensuring that all the money and work that goes into this project can go as far as possible.
Nora is aiming to raise £6,000, which is the minimum amount needed to support her 2016 spring tour and for audiences across the UK to see Nora's work.
Nora would ideally like to raise over £6,000 in anticipation of more tour dates coming through, in the UK and abroad. Nora's budget will increase as a result. Raising more than £6,000 will also cover any contingency costs that come up, so, please don't hesitate to be generous and support Nora's journey beyond her initial spring tour!
Risks and challenges
The dancers might get injured, the audiences might be unforgiving, the price of trains across the UK might soar.... BUT we hope they won't!
Nora is confident that their experience as performers, the support of their venue partners and tour booker Sarah Trist, and the high calibre of their artistic collaborators will carry them through a successful and smooth touring experience.
Nora is a project created and run by Eleanor Sikorski and Flora Wellesley Wesley, two friends and colleagues who, after studying together, have worked on many projects over the last 5 years. Nora is their most recent idea and they are thrilled with the programme they have brought together over the last year and chuffed with the audience response after their premiere at Sadler's Wells.
Their current support comes from many well respected organisations:
Supported by Arts Council England through National Lottery Funding.
Commissioned by Sadler's Wells Trust and DanceEast.
Co-commissioned and (tour) co-produced by South East Dance.
Supported by Arts Council England through National Lottery Funding, The Nightingale, Greenwich Dance & Trinity Laban Partnership, Dance4, Roehampton University, Leeds Beckett University, Institut français du Royaume-Uni and Chisenhale Dance Space.
As Nora, in early 2015, Eleanor and Flora successfully received and managed their first grant from the Arts Council, along with commissioning funds from other dance and arts organisations. This Kickstarter campaign will act as match funding to support their current, second grant from the Arts Council and they are confident that it will enable them to carry out the tour.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
