How Nora & Leo came to be...
Hi! I'm Joy Bianchi Brown, and when my girls were little, I used the idea of Nora & Leo, the good fairies, to inspire them towards good behavior. Every time my girls did something good, they earned a jewel to keep in their treasure chest. When they earned 20, "Nora & Leo" collected the jewels and left a reward. The magic of earning Nora & Leo's jewels gave my kids extra incentive to develop long-lasting, positive behavioral habits.
One morning at the grocery store, my oldest daughter saw a boy throwing a tantrum and exclaimed, "Mommy, that boy won't earn any jewels!" I suddenly realized that other parents and children could benefit from meeting Nora & Leo, and I was inspired to create these kits for parents who want to "catch their children being good".
Our mission is to take the frustration out of disciplining children by giving parents tangible tools for positive and effective parenting.
The Kit includes:
Research on behavior applied analysis shows that reinforcing desired behavior with a positive reward is more effective at changing behavior than simply punishing the negative behavior. Rewarding positive behaviors will foster more of the desired behaviors. Kids become happy to be good, and the program reinforces good parenting skills too. Plus, it's fun!
Your support will help us make these kits in bulk, drop the retail price, and bring Nora & Leo to parents and children everywhere!
I hope you love these kits as much as we do, and thanks for your support!

Risks and challenges
Our most pressing challenge is getting the word out about Nora & Leo and then delivering it to you as quickly as possible! Right now, we have 800 units ready-to-go for delivery by Christmas, 2015 for our premiere distribution.
We've already made all the necessary deals with all the suppliers, sub-contractors, manufacturers and shipping providers so everything is place and ready to go. Now it is up to you. We need to order in sufficient quantities to make it affordable and available for everyone.
Our entire kit was designed in the USA and is manufactured in China. We are confident about our capabilities and the promised delivery dates. However, as with many goods manufactured overseas, there is a risk of delays in manufacturing, shipping, customs, etc. A successful campaign enables us to immediately order a sufficient number of kits that will keep the price affordable and available to every parent that needs one.
Another challenge has been ensuring every piece of the kit is made with child-safe materials. Just as I would not want to purchase a toy that had not been properly tested for my own kids, I am making sure "Nora & Leo" are completely safe for your children.
We have been working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to ensure our kits are 100% up to code and safe. For example, we designed our jewels to be "Jumbo-Sized" (at least 42mm or larger) to alleviate worry about swallowing or choking. Even though the kits are designed for ages 4+, we recognize that many families may have children 0-3 years old so we took extra care to make sure that our jewels complied with the Code of Federal Regulations in Title 16, Parts 1501 and 1500.50, 51, 52 and 16 C.F.R. 1500.18(a)(9), which specifically governs potential choking hazards of toys designed for children under four years-old. We are also working with U.S. based company, Intertek, for 3rd-Party safety testing prior to release.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
