I got the watch in mid February. It fell down on the ground from the desk last week and broke its surface. It doesn't work now and I guess it comes with issues of the inside parts. I don't think a watch with good quality can be so easily broken, inside and outside. I don't know if the watch comes with service warranty and I am looking for suggestions on what to do to not make it a waste.
@Creator : everything still on time? I know that it's difficult to have interesting updates during the manufacturing process, but it would be nice to know that there is no delay :)
We just received backer confirmations from Kickstarter yesterday so we are just finalising the surveys now. We hope to have these complete in the coming days. Once ready we will get these sent out and post an update with instructions.
Let us know if you have any questions in the meantime.
Thanks for the kind words everyone! We are delighted that the campaign has reached it's target and we can get production of this collection underway!
@ Darren: for an additional strap you would have had to add £20 to your pledge amount. As the campaign has now finished you can no longer do this however we will make it possible to add additional straps to your order once we send out the surveys. You will be receiving this in the next 14 days or so.
@ Anthony Jiang: I can confirm that the case is circular. The individual shots were taken at a slight angle so this could be the reason they look like this. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Hi, just a quick question. Is the case elliptic? From the pictures in Options, i.e. showing eight variations of the watch, the case looks elliptic to me, but from the rest of the pictures, it looks circular.
Jimmy, you need to get over yourself too and stop having a chip on your shoulder as a Sinophile. I asked whether the watch was made in China or Scotland not because China produces crap (although I have received a few things that were). This watch is a Gaelic design and for the rather hefty price charged for a Quartz watch I was hoping for a made in Scotland for more originality. I have about 25 watches, 10 of which are from Kickstarter, 9 fr China and one from US as it touted itself to be made in USA. I bought them all knowing where they came from and am happy with them all for the price I paid. With the Nomad, yes I was hoping for a made in Scotland given it touted itself to be Gaelic but wasn't sure from the blurb so I asked. Personally I felt the price was a bit expensive for a Quartz watch made in China but the design outweighs it all so I'm happy to back it. No need for you to be disturbed. A watch is a personal thing and appeals to ppl in different ways - origin, design, price etc etc
As the self-appointed sinophile here on Kickstarter I find your comment especially disturbing since you're obviously of Chinese descent yourself. Everything is made in China now, and there's nothing wrong with that. Time to get over it already, mate. ;)
By the way, Nomad flatly tells us who the designer is. This is unlike some other brands here on Kickstarter actively trying to hide where their designs come from (e.g. *cough* "Norwegian" brand LINJER *cough*, whose watches are manufactured "just across the border of Hong Kong.")
Thanks for backing the campaign. I can confirm that the screws on the back plate are stand phillips head screws. We have used this same strap connection on our previous watch release and there have not been any issues with this coming detached. We find it to be stronger that the typical spring bar that is used on a lot of watches as this can bend if the strap is pulled.
Final assembly for the watch is carried out in China. Let me know if you have any more questions.
I have to say these watches are really quite different from the rest and I love the design and quality. The cast iron look is a hit with me. I'm not entirely convinced that the watch and strap will not detach easily but I await your response on that. My other question is where will the watches be manufactured. China or Scotland?
Is it possible to get replacement screws that hold the leather straps in as spares? If they're anything like spectacle screws, they can come off over time. Are they custom made proprietary screws or can we get them easily from local optometrists?
Congratulations for the wonderful watch. I've just came across it incidentally and I could not stop myself from backing :) I suppose I am after a black Outline with two straps - black and natural.
Mòltair should be getting this upgrade in the future. To be honest we haven't had any issues with the mineral crystal but it is an easy upgrade so is worth it just for that extra peace of mind.

Thanks!

I can confirm that the case and backplate are made of 316L stainless steel. This is often referred to as surgical grade stainless steel.
I hope that helps.
