Stage One of Micro USB Production Has Begun

Hi Backers,

We’re excited to announce that the first stage of Micro USB production has begun!

As you can see in the images below, we’ve just begun producing the hard clamshell bodies.

Keep in mind that, like with the iPhone 4 ChargeCards, this is the first of three stages.

We’re also making progress on ChargeCard for iPhone 5.

By using the same overmold—the foldout rubber tongue that holds the USB stick—we’ve been able to modify the Micro USB clamshell tool to fit the specs of the iPhone 5 clamshell which is speeding up the development of iPhone 5 tooling and bringing your ChargeCards one step closer to production.

As always, you can reach us at orders@chargecardproject.com.

Thank you for your patience and support!

So, the flex PCB will not be protected? Does it have stress reliefs to reduce damage from putting it with other cables and the ensuing untangling will have limited damage?

You didn't mention anything about changing all requests for white USB chargecards to black. I don't have an issue with the change, just that given how many backers it'd affect it should be in this update for transparency.

Looks really good! You all are moving this along at lightening speed compared to how long it takes to do any high tech fabrication in a moving field. Hang in there! It's well worth the wait and your health is also important!
