We think that protecting your phone or tablet from everyday bumps and scratches is important. However, a case should never impair your device's functionality, tactile experience and amazing design...
We have come up with the solution to this.
The Access Case is beautifully crafted & genuinely useful. It compliments your iPhone, S4 & iPad. It is the most versatile and unintrusive case in the world.
Available for iPhone 5s/5c/5/4S/4 - iPad Mini 1/2 - iPad 2/3/4/Air - And now Samsung Galaxy S4
We created the Access Case after being frustrated by cases that impaired the functionality and beautiful design of our iPhones and iPads. We wanted to protect our devices and have them remain as the manufacturer had intended. When we became aware of Micro-Suction technology we knew we had found what we needed to make this a reality. We set about testing and developing our design and we are really excited to share it with you. Now we need your support to order the first production run and bring the Access Case to market.
The Access Case gives you back your device. Protecting it in a slim, stylish leather folio case that compliments and showcases its form. You can now have instant and unparalleled access to your device in a way that has never been seen before.
What is Micro Suction & how does it work?
Micro Suction pads are bonded to the inside surface of the Access Case. The surface of these pads are covered in millions of microscopic suction cups. This material will grip to any clean, smooth, non-porous surface with incredible force and does not leave any residue when removed. It works perfectly with the aluminium, glass and plastic bodies of Apple and Samsung products.

A refined design using the best Italian leathers
We have been continuously developing and testing the Access Case since making a first prototype a year ago. We have used an array of manufacturers, paying meticulous attention to detail. We wanted to make sure that we could offer the best Italian leathers and the finest quality product.
Leather is a beautiful and durable material, no two pieces are ever the same, and as you use your Access Case, it will age beautifully with every mark, telling your story.
The utility pocket on the phone cases allow you to conveniently store cards & cash in a way that is easy to remove and replace.
The utility pocket on the iPad cases allow you to store larger items such as paper documents.
When the case is closed the contents of the pocket cannot fall out and are completely hidden.
iPad cases include Wake/Sleep function.
Make use of the variety of viewing and typing positions that are possible using the Access Case with an iPad.

Colours & Stretch Goals
The first colour option we are offering is Chestnut brown. Additional colour options are available as Stretch Goals.
(All Include Worldwide Delivery)
The Access Case was born after we became aware of micro-suction technology. We knew that this material had been used on iPhone & iPad docks, to hold the dock securely to the table or surface. Realised that this material it had so much more to offer, we ordered a sample and began to play with different applications. Once we had settled on the concept of redesigning the phone case, we began to design & develop a refined and stylish product. Through multiple prototypes we constantly addressed issues to do with functionality whilst making sure we ended up with a useful and tactile case that is beautiful and a pleasure to use.
Production and leather quality is incredibly important to us and only the best is good enough. So we worked with a number of overseas luxury leather goods manufacturers to find the best leathers available and discover which one offered the highest and most consistent production quality. Our chosen manufacturer has produced the best samples and prototypes throughout this project, and always delivered on time.
The Access Case evolved through simultaneous prototyping and testing. The image shows some of the development of the phone cases.
Our design is now finalised and our manufacturers are waiting for us to submit our order. In order for us to do that we need your support to raise the capital to meet our minimum order quantity. below we have listed the remaining steps in fulfilling your pledge reward:
- Once we have surpassed our funding goal we will order the last preproduction samples, that will be the final leathers on offer. We will produce photos and upload them as updates here and on our Twitter and Facebook, so you can decide which colour you wish to choose. (manufacture and delivery of these samples takes between 2 or 3 weeks)
- Once the colour options have been uploaded we will ask backers to complete an online survey allowing them to select the colour and case type they have pledged for. This will be launched once the funding period has finished, and will run for 1 week. We will send out daily reminders to ensure that every backer is able to choose their desired Access case.
- We will order our Access cases and packaging at the beginning of January. For large orders manufacturing time will be between 20-40 days. However during January our manufacturer shuts down for a number of days, which is why we expect the first batch to arrive mid to late Feb and can start shipping our first orders.
We (Jack and Alex) both completed 3D Design (for sustainability) Ba Hons, at Falmouth University, Cornwall, and have been close friends since. We then worked closely together for a number of years as freelance product designers, before starting to work together on our own projects almost 2 years ago, starting with building our own CNC milling machine to prototype designs for ourselves and our clients.
In November 2012 Alex began working for a renewable energy engineering firm (Mojo Maritime) as a Technical Designer, while Jack continued to work as a Freelance Designer to fund our own design projects, We are excited to launch Nodus and continue to deliver beautifully designed and well made products.
As product & technical designers we have worked on numerous products, helping clients bring them to market, working directly with manufacturers, producing preproduction prototypes and sourcing components. It is this experience and technical rigour that has fed into the ethos of this project and will do in our future projects.
Finally, we would like to say thanks to...

Risks and challenges
Over the last year we have continuously developed the Access Case and we are very proud of the results. We are satisfied that these products meet our high standards and we will be able to place the order as soon as the post funding period survey finishes. On top of this we have sourced prototypes from multiple manufactures and built good working relationships, so we can choose the best materials and provide the best quality product available.
As with any product going into production there are risks, but we have worked hard to minimise these. For example, production delays, which we have allowed for in our timeline (we hope to start delivery prior to our eta of March). Our primary risk is that our chosen manufacturer cannot 100% guarantee that they will have stocks of the leathers used in our current prototypes. To deal with this we have decided that you will choose your leather once funding is complete in an online survey. This means that we can make use of our manufacturers large array of luxury leathers and offer stretch goals in which further leather colours will become available.
Your reward defaults to the Chestnut Brown Italian leather, as seen in most of our photos (for which new stocks of leather have already been ordered by our manufacturer. We have been assured this will be available.
We will be as open as possible with you throughout the rest of the project and beyond, posting regular updates (here and on facebook and twitter) every step of the way. We will invite you to ask us any questions you have, to help ensure that we provide you with the product you want and service you deserve.
