In order to make the Nodez compatible with other ecosystems, we use the IFTTT services. As you know, all of the popular ecosystems work with IFTTT. Thus we will be able to integrate your current smart home devices with Nodez over IFTTT. We'll also be able to do some integration using the Amazon Echo. In short, we are working on the best solutions for a great user experience for all Nodez customers. Thank you!

Nodez devices use Bluetooth 5 to connect to the Nodez hub, therefore you can't use Nodez devices with other hubs.

Right now, the US, UK, and EU are all covered. This is pretty much practically the entire world. If your country is not covered, a simple adapter will allow your plugs to work.

Not at all, Nodez were designed for use by everyone. No sign-up forms, no lengthy installs. Nodez will work straight out of the box with default settings. To get the most out of the Nodez all you’ll is a smartphone or tablet with the Nodez app.

No. Nodez are all plug-and-play. Very simple to use with self-explanatory settings. If you want to attach the Nodez Guard (which includes a smoke detector, humidity sensor, and carbon monoxide detector) to the ceiling or wall, you need to screw a wall mount to the ceiling or wall and just click the Nodez Guard into place.

No! All you really need is the Nodez hub. As long as you’ve got that you decide which Nodez you need and which you don’t. Using our pledge calculator (www.calc.nodez.io) calculate and buy only the Nodez you want.

At the end of the Kickstarter campaign you will let us know by filling out a very short backer survey which lets you add the Nodez like you would a shopping cart.

Hackers are getting more sophisticated. They can leverage the smallest vulnerabilities and security flaws found in outdated software. So we keep everything up to date through Over-the-air(OTA) updates.
We use 128-bit AES encryption for communication between the Nodez and hub inside your home. In order to allow you to control and monitor your home from anywhere, your data is processed anonymously in the cloud.
We used TLS1.2 encryption with user authentication between your home and the cloud to ensure the highest level of security and privacy.
The pairing over NFC is the most secure option available by completing the pairing process and encryption key exchange entirely Out of Band (OOB) at 13.56MHz where NFC operates.
So, we do every possible thing to make your system safe.

For those of you who want an API to get down to the nitty-gritty and program your Nodez, we get you and we admire you. Channeling the technical knowledge of the community is awesome and we get it. Right know we are working towards making Nodez as secure as possible while making the user experience effortless. We may open up an API after the release and you can still use IFTTT to do pretty much anything.

The automation scenarios are kept in your hub so even if there’s no longer a connection to the cloud, your automated scenarios will continue to work. The only thing you wont be able to do when there’s no power or internet is access your Nodez settings when out of the house. So the fire alarm will go off, for example, but you wont get a notification in the app if there’s no internet access in the home. We are thinking of adding a sim card to the hub as a stretch goal which will allow you to have full access to the Nodez even when your wifi is down.

All the Nodez including the hub have a backup battery. As stated in the answer above, your Nodez will continue to work insuring your comfort and security even if the power goes out.
