This Kickstarter project is important to me. I want it to succeed so I can sell the shirts at an affordable price for you. If I buy each sheet of glass individually, the shirts will cost way more than I would like. I need to raise money so I can buy all the glass in bulk, so I can sell them at an affordable rate.
The design is made by breaking a sheet of glass with a hammer, over a shirt. After that, I spray bleach over the shattered piece of glass. I will be using one sheet of glass per one shirt. That means every single shirt will be a one-of-a-kind design. That also means I have to buy a lot of glass.
After I make all the shirts I will be keeping the glass to make blown glass art. None of it will end up in the trash.
I will be making two different versions: the Shattered Tee and the Shattered Pocket Tee.
Shattered Pocket Tee
I will be refining the process further to be able to give you the best product possible.
Also, every one of the shirts will include a sleeve tag of my logo.
The Photo Book
Did I mention I also do photography? The digital photo book will be a photo journal of the entire Kickstarter project, from start to finish. Here are some examples from a previous project:
If we can raise $3000, I will offer this design on a tank top here on Kickstarter.
If we can raise $4000, I will offer this design on a zip-up hoodie.
If we can raise $5000, I will offer the pocket design on a short sleeve button up collard shirt.
If we can raise $6000, I will offer both designs on a different color tee, chosen by backer vote.
If we can raise $10,000, I will melt down the broken glass and blow it into something new to offer here on Kickstarter.
Thank you so much for looking at my project. Please join me for the 30 day ride as you make this project happen!
Risks and challenges
Since I are not mass-producing identical shirts, if this project is wildly successful, it may take me longer than anticipated to make all of them.
Whether this project exceeds my expectations, or merely reaches my goal, I expect to be able to ship all the shirts before the end of October.
