It's been over two years since my last dance with Kickstarter, which resulted in having the opportunity to record my first full-length album, 'Sing Sweet World.' Creating that album opened a lot of doors, allowing me to pursue music with more passion and determination. I am ever grateful to the people who believed in the vision and helped me see it through. This next chapter would not be possible had it not been for the help I received from my community. Thank you!
Fast forward to today------> I'm now incredibly lucky to have a full band, The Botanicals, that has been working non-stop for the past year, learning new songs and putting a fresh coat of paint on older ones. In that short year we've made incredible leaps, having played festivals, toured throughout the region, and connected with people from all walks of life. It's truly been a beautiful experience that has invigorated our sense of purpose and direction as musicians.
Our goal for this Kickstarter is to record a 5-7 song EP at Sedgwick Studios, located in the forests outside of Asheville. The songs will range from hip-hop and soul, to jazz-inspired funk. The funds raised will help to pay for the recording, the mixing and mastering of the CD, as well as hiring local musicians to perform on the album, paying graphic design artists, production and duplication, and the creation of merch such as t-shirts and stickers for our supporters. Producer and sound engineer Peter Brownlee, of Asheville band 'Midnight Snack,' will be helping to produce and record the album. Michael Hynes, who mastered 'Sing Sweet World,' will once again add his magic touch to the mastering process of the CD. We will begin recording this Winter and hope to release the CD in early Summer.
We are beyond excited to take the first step on this new project, and are grateful to each and every show of support- which can be as simple as telling a friend or sharing our Kickstarter on social media. Our mission is to continue putting out positive, uplifting music, and to have a good time doing it. Thank you for taking the time to listen to our story, we hope to see you on the other side with a brand new CD!

Risks and challenges
Whereas the previous CD was done very much do-it-yourself, this one ups the ante as we will be booking three days at a professional studio. We won't be able to spend an indefinite amount of time recording, so we must be prepared far before we ever step foot in the studio. Luckily we are aware of this change in dynamics and are doing what we can now to prepare for the challenge.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
