THE DARK IS CALLING...
In The Blessed Dark, you play as cultists vying for the favor of The Ancient Ones — the dwellers beyond the veil. By gathering blood, completing rituals, casting spells, and summoning demons, you will sow the seeds of darkness in a bid to become The Chosen.
In a nutshell, it's basically like a super creepy vibed micro Yahtzee for 2-4 players, with push your luck dice rituals, take that-style card curses, and demonic summoning to gain victory points, among other things. Here, look:

I'm so glad you asked! This is clearly very important information you might be curious about!

The Blessed Dark comes in a small pocket-sized (3.75" x 2.45") black tin (the same size as an Altoids tin) affixed with vinyl label stickers on the front and back. INSIDE this little tin package of nefarious delight, is:
- A folded instructions sheet (yay, instructions!)
- 32 Mini-size cards (sturdy UV coated, very nice)
- 3 Black ritual dice (small 12mm size with white pips)
- 20 Blood tokens (8mm red plastic cubes).
It's a MEATY game in a small package. Here's what all of that looks like:

NO! BAD! *CUE SQUIRT BOTTLE SOUNDS* NO STRETCH GOALS FOR YOU!
This is a lean, mean, micro campaign.
I just want to make this game for you, not a bunch of extra fiddly expensive doodads and weird artificial upgrades you don't care about (or maybe you do, sorry). Trying to keep this reasonable here, folks!
No fancy stretch goals. Instead, I'm focusing on getting the core game in your pocket as quickly as possible!
Ok, yes. So here are my two cat children: Seamus (white) and Nuggie (not white).
They are always very curious about what I'm making, and are excellent at hopping onto my work space, putting their butts in my face, head-butting my fingers while I'm trying to type or layout cards, and/or leaping off my desk erratically, sending everything I'm working on flying in all directions. It is a thing that happens. A lot. Sometimes I get mad and shake my fists at the ceiling. But I love them so much.
They also super love Extra Attention(TM). If you back the game at the CAT BLESSING TIER, not only will I give my cats EXTRA pets and love in your honor while telling them who it came from, I will also send you a digital picture of at least one of my cats interacting with (blessing) the actual physical copy of the game I will send directly to you after I have assembled it.
This is a nice way to kick extra financial support to the project while also sending love to my babies. Thank you.
Note: I'm only offering this as an option, because it's something I would super pay extra for and appreciate if I was Kickstarting someone's else's project. #CRAZYCATDUDE
ARGH. Yes, I'm super sorry. [Insert pained moment of silence] This is going to be US-ONLY shipping. Why? Because I'm just one US citizen dude making a tiny hand-made game, and shipping outside of the US gets EXPONENTIALLY MORE COMPLICATED AND SUPER EXPENSIVE AND ANXIETY INDUCING STRESSFUL when doing it by hand. This is an ultra DIY project, and I just can't. Sorry. That's annoying. Don't hate me. I'm doing my best.
If I do a second edition, it will not be assembled/shipped by hand, so I should be able to offer a future version for international backers (stay tuned). Thanks for understanding!
Oh wait, did I mention there's a Print and Play edition for super cheap ($5)? That's a solid option if you live outside of the US and REALLY are super thirsty to play the game ASAP. (NOTE: You'll need to supply your own (3) six-sided dice and (20) tokens for the print and play version, but that's not too intense...use some twigs and sticks if necessary, right?).
Risks and challenges
I'm doing everything I can to keep this project as tightly focused as possible. Not having lots of stretch goals and extra shippables to work on will help speed up fulfillment, but because I'm assembling and shipping each game by hand, it could take a while to get them all assembled and shipped once the components arrive. That said, I'm aiming to get backer copies sent out well ahead of my target deliver date.
The other potential thing that could slow things slightly down is availability of components. For the most part, getting everything I need won't be a problem, but depending on how successful the campaign is, having to make TONS of copies by hand may require me to assemble and ship them out in "rounds" based on component restock and availability.
If any issues arise that affect fulfillment, I will be sure to work hard to get them resolved as fast as possible, and I'll be very transparent and communicative about the process so folks know where things are at. Thanks!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
