The Request: Nix Comics is a Columbus, Ohio based publisher that prominently features comic books that are as inspired by record store culture, punk rock zines and B-Movies as they are by pre-code humor and horror comics. Each issue of Nix's flagship title, Nix Comics Quarterly (NCQ), features 6-8 horror stories with garage and punk rock inspirations.
Nix Comics Quarterly (NCQ) #8 will be the fourth full length publication released by Nix Comics in 2015. It will be a 28 page color comic book.
Funds are tight due to some unexpected expenses with the last Nix Release: "Jim Shepard, Negotiate Nothing." As it stands, I'll have just enough to pay the artists involved and enough to print copies to mail to my 2014-15 subscribers, but not enough to have extra copies for shows, stores, and my website. I am asking fans to buy their copy of the newest book using this kickstarter to pre-order NCQ #8 and maybe catch up on some back issues you missed out on!
Thanks for looking!
-Ken Eppstein, El Presidente of Nix Comics
PS: Apologies to everyone who made it all of the way through that video before realizing my secret contempt for the idea that I need a video to sell a print comic. It's not you... It's me...

Risks and challenges
The risk on this project is very low. As stated above, the funds gained through this kickstarter are being used to increase the print run of a comic that is already being made for Nix Comics subscribers.
It will be the 21st publication released by Nix Comics and I am a veteran on-line retailer who knows the ins and outs of shipping both internationally and within the United States, so I am unlikely to fall into any of the pitfalls frequently associated with new publishers and kickstarter managers.
I'm also a working stiff with a day job, so I truly flattered that you would spend your money on my comics. I will work hard to honor the fact that you have spent valuable work time out of your life to earn any dough that you spend on me.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
