"Cute card game for the family and for players who enjoy casual games" - Cyrus Kirby, Father Geek
"Wolf & Hound hits a lot of sweet spots. Its duration, weight (or meatiness), and skill vs luck ratio all fall right where they should and therefore I really enjoy playing Wolf & Hound." - Richard Miles, Board Game Authority
Sheep needs your help!
In Wolf & Hound, you become a shepherd in French Alps where wolves are becoming a problem as they chase your sheep away from your pasture. It is up to your reliable hound to go find the lost sheep and bring them back!
The game is played as a 2 versus 2 partnership game. Your goal is to protect you and your partner's sheep from being chased away by the evil wolves. You will win the game if one of your opponents loses all his or her sheep first.
To start the game, team members will sit across from each other. Each player will start with 3 sheep in their pasture, and 4 cards in their hand.
Each turn you will play one card from your hand which will move the wolf or the hound. Where the wolf or the hound moves to determines the fate of your sheep. If there is a wolf in your pasture at the start of your turn, then the wolf will chase away one of your sheep. Rest assured though, if there is a hound in your pasture at the start of your turn, then he will rescue the lost sheep and bring it back to your pasture.
After you play a card, you will draw a card. Then the game continues to the player to your left. This continues on until one player loses all his or her sheep, or until the draw deck is depleted and players play all their cards.
Move the wolf and the hound wisely to protect you and your partner’s sheep, and chase away your opponents' sheep!

Advanced Game Play
The game comes with many Wolf & Hound cards that are not used in every play. At the beginning of the game, you can choose any combinations of the Wolf & Hound cards to drastically change the game play. Use the basic cards to introduce the game to new players, or if you're playing with casual gamers. Try advanced cards to explore more with experienced players!
Take a look at some of the more advanced cards.
There are cards that change during the game too! This cards flips over every time it goes around the board. Some time it is a hound, and sometime it is a wolf...
You can make the game simple for casual gamers or more strategic for experienced gamers. Find your favorite card combinations!
"Adding one or more of these advanced cards really changes things up; the whole dynamic of the game changes. Because of this, you can play what feels like a completely new and different game of Wolf & Hound every time you play it." - Richard Miles, Board Game Authority
Nick Meenachan - Wolf & Hound has a very charming theme. Together with its charming artwork, these things really work well to make this a family style game. But when you get into the game play there is enough strategic bite for anyone.
Game is easily modifiable depending on the group of gamers you are engaged with, which is not something a lot of games can say. When you add this together with the theme, the components, the artwork, the presentation, and the 2 versus 2 team play, it definitely becomes a type of casual game that a lot of different people from all different gaming experiences can really get into.
Cyrus Kirby (Father Geek) - I found Wolf & Hound to be a cute card game for the family and for players who enjoy casual card games. The game's level of depth is just enough to keep players involved without demanding all of their attention, but they will remain engaged. This is due to the game's cooperative nature that keeps team members occupied, talking (somewhat) and working together. There is no downtime to speak of, even if the player is not taking their turn, due to the ever-changing Pasture board. Players will feel compelled to keep track of what is going on from the first sheep to the last sheep.
If Wolf & Hound sounds like a game you'd like to try, I encourage you to do so. Win or lose, you won't have a baaaaaad time.
Child Geek - I thought this game was going to be really easy at first, but the Wolf card keeps coming over and eating my sheep! Once you understand how to work with your partner, everything goes really smoothly.
Parent Geek - I failed to realize how important it was for my team to manage both the Wolf and the Hound card as often as possible. We lost a lot of sheep at first until we realized our mistake. You will lose sheep and you will earn sheep. The key to victory is simply to outlast your opponents. It’s all about survival.
Gamer Geek - This is not a difficult game, but nor is it easy. You have to work with your partner if you want to win and that takes skill. For such a small and casual game, it requires a lot of thought to win.
Richard Miles - Wolf & Hound is a great game to pull out as an opener on game nights. It is fun and doesn’t take long to set up, teach, and start playing. I don’t think it will be uncommon for players to say “Let’s play one more time” after the first game is finished. Wolf & Hound is definitely in the buy column for me; I think it is a solid investment for the amount of fun you’ll have and the number of times it will make it to the table. And with the possibility of extra cards and components, backing Wolf & Hound on Kickstarter is a no-brainer.
Danny Lott - I thoroughly recommend this game. The art is adorable, the components are fantastic. We thought we were just going to play a few times, but we churned out games after games after games! Tried out metamorphic cards and the tornado cards, and it was just a blast!
Vincent Paone - I like how you can choose which cards will be included in the game, allowing smaller kids the ability to play without getting overwhelmed by special abilities. Older players who want more of a challenge can use the advanced cards (like wolf/hound cards 2-5) to make them think a bit more. While keeping with the formula, they also add modifiers and push their respective effects to other players.
Strategicon Attendee - I thought this was going to be a simple kids game, but I was totally wrong! It turned out to be a really intriguing game with lots of strategies. It was my favorite game at the show!
Our project goal of $10,000 is the bare minimum we need to print the game. Help us make the game better by spreading the words about Wolf & Hound. Together we can make this project a great success!

To add an add-on, simply add the price of the add-on to your rewards level, and add the shipping cost in the Shipping section below.
For example, if you are adding a "Defend the Egg" to your Standard Edition, and you are in the US, your total pledge amount would be:
$32 + $5 (for the standard edition) + $11 + $3 (for 1 add-on) = $51
Original Tote Bag
Deluxe Edition Wood Box
We ship our games from fulfillment centers in US and EU to eliminate EU VAT charges and keep shipping cost low. When you choose a rewards level the following shipping cost will be added automatically at checkout.
When adding add-ons to your rewards level, please add the following shipping cost in addition to the add-on cost. Shipping cost is the same no matter which add-on you add. If you add more add-ons, then the shipping cost will only go up slightly.
A relatively new face in the board game designer's world, Fukutarou successfully designed and released 3 games thus far. Every single game he has released has received great feed backs from the Japanese board game community. He enjoys gaming in general from table top games to online PC games and arcade video games.
A famous comic book artist and an illustrator in Japan. She started working as a professional artist/illustrator in 1998, which is where her pseudonym comes from. Some of her popular works include, Honoka Lv Up, and Tetsudou Musume. Matsuda98 is a big fan of Hello! Project (a Japanese pop singers group).
Popular sculptor and illustrator mainly working on board game component and game character designs. Osamu's works have cute but distinct taste that attracts many.
Although the original game has been released in Japan and was very well received, significant amount of work was required to make the game marketable to a wider audience. We strongly believe that this is an excellent game that needs to be played by gamers worldwide. This is why we chose Kickstarter so that we can repackage the game as Wolf & Hound, and release it to an international audience. We need your help in raising the fund necessary to publish and market the game.
We are estimating that it will cost us about $12,000 total to manufacture this game and ship them to you. We have invested over $2,000 into the project already, but we need the other $10,000 from you to make this project a reality.

Risks and challenges
The base game is already released in Japan, so there is no risk in designing and creating the game.
There are risks in manufacturing English copies although Ninja Star Games has successfully delivered a game in the past. We have very talented people working on manufacturing the game, translating Japanese to English, and communicating with various stakes holders involved in making this project a success.
The game will be manufactured in China, so there will be the usual risks in shipment delay, customs delay, and such. This is why we have a conservative estimated delivery date.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
