Nightscape Tarot is a fully illustrated, 78-card tarot deck based primarily on the Rider-Waite tradition. The cards are illustrated with an eclectic, playful, pop art style.
***FINAL 48 HOURS UPDATE: THE PROJECT IS FULLY FUNDED AND FINAL PROOFS HAVE BEEN APPROVED! PRINTING IS UNDERWAY!***
Each card was designed and illustrated by the deck's creator, Molly Greenlee. This is her first tarot deck. The project began as a personal challenge to create an entire deck in order to learn the cards. At the time she was learning about Jungian depth psychology and was particularly interested in exploring archetypal images. The motivation to finish the deck waxed and waned at times—but three years later the cards are finished and ready for printing!
Stylistically, there's a play between black and white, positive and negative, light and dark.
A few examples of the cards:
The deck consists of 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor Arcana cards.
In place of the traditional Page and Knight cards, the royal families are completed by Prince and Princess cards. This was done intentionally to create a stronger balance in terms of the number of male and female figures, however the cards can still be read traditionally (princess = page, prince = knight) if desired.
A successful kickstarter will result in the first printing (500 copies) of the deck.
Cards are standard tarot size ( 2.75" x 4.75") and will be printed on high quality (350 gsm) card stock and arrive in a two-piece paperboard box. The accompanying box design is a work in progress and will be unveiled during the course of this kickstarter project. *Molly is working with the print company (Print Ninja) to deliver a sturdy, unique box that stays true to the Nightscape motif— including metallic silver ink.

Risks and challenges
Limited risk: If the project isn't full backed, you'll get your money back! In the meantime, I'm working with an experienced printing company to create the decks and get them shipped out on time. In the event of any unexpected delays, I will be entirely transparent in sharing the matter on this Kickstarter page.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
