Future Giants Frame Campaign
I have 6 large scale drawings (and several medium & smaller ones) currently exhibiting in my solo show at The Malthouse in Stroud. The exhibition was offered to me by the wonderful SIT Select after seeing my figure drawings shortlisted for Jerwood Drawing Prize 2016. The walls at The Malthouse are massive, industrial and beautiful and the drawings had to be huge to have any impact in such a glorious space. I experimented with materials and decided on charcoal on canvas - tough enough to allow a lot of drawing and rubbing out - layering and moving lines in the way I like to draw with the workings showing an important part of the whole, and sensitive tenuous charcoal which is black and immediate but also flighty and soft. The 3 drawings which I need to frame are not made on stretchers (canvas supports) they are hanging from battens and gently move on the wall. They will not be at all easy to store or exhibit elsewhere once the Malthouse exhibition ends on June 20th.
I would therefore hugely appreciate your help with getting these big characters behind glass. This involves my wonderful framers Chris, Ed, Margot & Paul at Creative Picture Framing in Cirencester, a big van and some rewards for all your incredible support...

Risks and challenges
The challenge for me is to try and get these figures protected and exhibition-ready - they're so big that the framer has to make 'outsize' frames which means they will be big and heavy and difficult to transport. When I have made big work in the past I've encountered this problem and the difficulty of showing them in other venues/entering them in open submissions is limited. I love working this big as it's surprisingly liberating but they're a much harder sell.
I'm looking for a venue or buyers for these favourite pieces - please let me know if you have any great ideas..
This is the first time I have entered into a Kickstarter campaign - I'd love some support, feedback or just a comforting word! Thanks for your time Nick X
