Update: Only hours to go!
Firstly a very Big Thank You to everyone who has pledged and shared this project. Eggie Boo has been going around the Globe. I've had some lovely messages of support from UK, USA, Singapore, Canada, Denmark, France, Australia, India and more.
The last few days have been particularly fast & busy.
I have also had Three Corporate pledges so far - which is exciting.
After this Kickstarter finishes you wont be able to pledge - But you can go to www.eggieboo.com and pledge there via paypal.
For the last year I have been writing and illustrating a
new pre school children’s book Eggie Boo. This has been a self funded project that is now almost complete.
I would love to turn Eggie Boo into an animated pilot - both as a stand alone short film for festivals & the internet and as a pilot to show television commissioners. Please help me to make Eggie Boo into a future children's TV series.
Chester and his family live in a old railway station that has been converted into a house and café.
When playing with his toys Chester dreams of a past when real trains stopped at the old station platform bringing passengers and tourists to the seaside town.
The old ticket machine in Chester’s bedroom is the portal into The Land of Eggie Boo. Its special tickets transform the old station into a magical railway, with its mysterious train, and unusual passengers.
Engelbert the Engine is Eggie Boo’s main transport. Engelbert takes his passengers and unusual carriages on adventures around the island.
Be one of the FIRST to get hold of a signed copy of Eggie Boo. This is only one of the fantastic REWARDS I am offering.
Have your photo, or a loved ones, printed on the inside cover end paper. This will be unique to the first edition of the book and could make a lovely gift or memento. (Pledge £20 Book & photo)
Any donation will help me achieve this goal. The Eggie Boo film will be available to view in early 2015, if not before. I will create a fully functioning website for it and send the film for entry into various film festivals across the globe. The pilot and its series bible will be shown to television commissioners and publishers.
Kernow Chocolate will be making the lovely chocolate bars in Cornwall, UK.
If you like the project but can't donate please help by spreading the idea around. The more folks that hear about it means the more chance I have of reaching my goal. Who knows where a simple email or facebook link may lead?
Our border terrier loves reading 'Robin & Wren'. Although he would rather be chasing tennis balls. You can get your copy for a £6 pledge. That's better value than buying it on Amazon!
I hope the rewards I'm offering seem exciting. I'm open to listing more. Please contact me if you have any suggestions, specific illustration requirements or creative rewards you would like to see offered. My email is email@example.com or you can click the 'contact me' button at the top left of this page.
I have wanted to make my own children's television series for a number of years. When my fantastic son arrived nearly four years ago I knew I had to make this a reality - for him and lots of other children.
Eggie Boo will be a fun and engaging book and animation series filled with lovable characters and stories to capture a child's imagination.
The viewer will follow Chester into the world of Eggie Boo where new experiences and cooperation are key.
Music and gentle learning will be subtly woven into the humorous scripts. The young viewer will be both entertained and informed.
Having worked on many animated shorts, television series, titles and commercials I feel Eggie Boo is my best idea so far for an animated children's series. Some of the designs and storylines are still in development but the premise of the concept is I think strong.
With your help this can happen!
(That's the magic of kickstarter and you)
I am a writer, illustrator and animator living in the South West of England. After studying for a BA in Fine Art & then an MA in Animation I started a career in animation. This has given me the opportunity to work with some great clients and employers including studios such as Aardman animations, 4:2:2, BBC and Picasso pictures. I was fortunate to win BBC Talent and a Royal Television Society award for my work and my short films have been in competition at festivals such as Annecy, Portland, Edinburgh and London.
For the last couple of years I have been concentrating on writing and illustration projects including my novel 'Dinozoo' and pre school picture book 'Robin & Wren'.
I have a young son and some of our favorite children's TV programmes that we watch together include: Octonauts, Ben & Holly, Peppa Pig, Shaun the Sheep, Abney &Teal , Sarah & Duck and Thomas - I would love to make a series even half as good as these.
The budget for this animated pilot is modest. I will work on it unpaid but will obviously need help: other animators, voice actors, producers, music and post production. There will also be a certain amount of day to day expenses to complete the film. I hope to ask for good deals and discounts to keep costs low. Nothing will be wasted!
You can some see some previous examples of animated films by me here: www.eggieboo.com
Kaja May is helping with the music for this pilot. Kaja has an MA in Film Music Composition from Bristol University - she is also my lovely wife.
We intend collaborating on writing new songs for the series.
Thanks also go to Spike Real for providing the announcer voice on the kickstarter video.
Thank you for reading my Eggie Boo Kickstarter project and If you liked it please help by donating, spreading the word, or telling me what you think. It's always hard work getting something new off the ground but word of mouth is a great motivator.

Risks and challenges
Making a animated short film is always difficult. If successfully funded I will strive to make an enjoyable, fun film which shows the Eggie Boo world and its characters off to best ability.
The budget for this kickstarter project is modest. Any extra funds raised above my initial target will go towards making a more ambitious pilot. I have given a completion date of March 2015 but would hope to finish before then.
I will keep all funders informed of the projects progress and honour as many pledges as soon as I can, as & when these are complete.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
