By manufacturing everything here in Oregon, we can over see every step of the production process which insures that we can give you the highest quality product. We also wanted to prove you don't have to spend $500 on a technical waterproof jacket. By cutting out the middleman and selling directly to the customer, we can give you a reasonable price without compromising the integrity of the product. Last but not least, we have created our jacket out of recycled and sustainable fabrics, leaving less of a footprint on our earth.
You will be contacted after our Kickstarter campaign is complete to let us know your size and color preference!
All funding generated on Kickstarter goes directly into the manufacturing process. We've already purchased all the pieces necessary to create the jacket, now we need your help to start the manufacturing process and make our dream become a reality!
Growing up in Bend Oregon, my brother and I were constantly outdoors; skiing, skateboarding, camping and fishing. We grew up with a love for experiencing nature and everything it has to offer us. This respect for our surroundings led us to create New Growth Clothing 4 years ago. We were tired of printing on clothing made in other countries without any pride or integrity, which also led to poor quality products... So we decided to manufacture all of our garments out of sustainable materials, here in Oregon. With the Pak-Lite already in mind, we started searching apparel campaigns and began to notice there was a lack of options for not only waterproof jackets but US made and sustainable products. This is where we decided the Pak-Lite Utility jacket would be born, here, with the help of you and Kickstarter.
Risks and challenges
We've spent well over a year and have created 11 prototypes to perfect a jacket that we believe is the best of its kind. Even with all the hard work, we've come across some risks & challenges that we need your help getting past.
-The biggest RISK we face is simply reaching our campaign goal of $35,000 so we can begin the manufacturing of these jackets. If we do not succeed in reaching our goal we are stuck with thousands of parts to a jacket and no way to get them manufactured.
-The biggest CHALLENGE we face is the manufacturing of the jackets. Our manufacturer needs every piece of the jacket before they can start production and that has lead to some hefty overhead costs.
-On a positive note we have nearly finalized the jacket so any adjustments will be minor and allow us the option to go straight into production once we have reached out goal of $35,000. BY DOING SO WE CAN PROMISE THE FIRST 25 JACKETS WILL BE SHIPPED OUT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, just incase you bought that special someone this one of a kind jacket!
-Were very proud to be working with our Oregon manufacturer who is solidified in the industry as one of the best. Creating garments for the NFL, US Military and Olympic athletes, they are known for their amazing quality and take great pride in their work. With a spotless and clean warehouse used in the manufacturing of these jackets, we can support local Oregonians with safe, fair paying jobs while giving you the best quality possible. We've cut no corners in the production of this jacket and once you put it on you will notice the difference.
-You now know the obstacles we face in fulfilling our dream of making the highest quality jacket here in the U.S. out of recycled materials. With your help we can prove it is possible, and maybe kickstart the change that is needed in the fashion industry. So we ask for your help in any way possible; whether it be a sticker pack, multi jacket order or just sharing our Kickstarter page with your friends and family. Lets take pride again in what we can make here in America. Its time to change the way our clothing is made. Its time to take Pride Over Profits.
Shout out to our parents, Sean Burles, Sue Yocom, Dan Wellisch, Conner Bennett, Erica Durtschi, The Schumachers, Shawn Warren, Tyler Mungall, Jake Mageau and Jake Lincoln. Without any of you, none of this would be possible.
