The Devil's Swamp is a Call of Cthulhu adventure book for the classic 1920s era, licensed by Chaosium. The book contains a series of five or more adventures set in the Hockomock swamp in Massachusetts to be used with 7th edition Call of Cthulhu RPG.

This product is produced under license from Chaosium Inc. (www.chaosium.com). Call of Cthulhu is the Registered Trademark of Chaosium Inc., and is used with their permission. www.chaosium.com
The Devil's Swamp includes adventures that can usually be run in one or two evenings. They can be run as independent one-off adventures or strung together as a mini-campaign using the same characters. All of the stories are set in the Hockomock which literally means 'the place where spirits live.'

As a member of the Bridgwater Preservation Society, you and your friends investigate the stories people plague the city and area with. The stories the police won't investigate, or quit on way too easily. Living next to the Hockomock, at the heart of what will later become known as the Bridgewater Triangle, gives you easy access to delve into any of the stories that arise.
The Hockomock Swamp, named the Devil's Swamp by the original English settlers, is a known site for paranormal activity. Everything from Bigfoot, aliens, thunder birds, huge snakes, strange lights, Puckwudgies, Native American curses, cultists, mutilated animals and more have been reported in the area. So join me and my team as we help unravel the Mythos tied to the mysteries of the Hockomock.

The Devil's Swamp is written by Ben Burns, features the artwork of Evgeny Maloshenkov, the cartography of Bryan McWhirter, player handouts by Elizabeth Bakowski and edited by Alex Burns. In other words the entire team that produced The Star on the Shore. We are the same company, just a change of name.
Join us in completing this great adventure book, so that we can share it with the world. Please back our Kickstarter today to help make these adventures a reality.

The funds will go toward the artwork already commissioned, extra adventures by guest writer(s), allow for more artwork, commissioning of the cartography for the maps, the editing, printing and shipping.

ADD ONs
You will have the opportunity to include Add Ons after the campaign is complete including purchasing extra copies, prints, the Art Book, Insanity Dice, and copies of The Star on the Shore.
Our Artist
We are always asked who does our art work. Evgeny Maloshenkov was the main artist for The Star on the Shore and will be doing 90% of the art work in Devil's Swamp. He is a professional artist from Ukraine. He now lives in Kiev working for Frogwares doing software CGI art. He still freelances commission work for several companies including Chaosium as well as New Comet Games. You can see more of his work at his portfolio site here: emaloshenkov.carbonmade.com
Page Count
While we will not guarantee any minimum page count, the first 5 adventures are almost finished, and the book is currently around 60-70 pages. The more people pledge, the more adventures we will add in and the longer the book will be. If we hit the stretch goal for 6 adventures, it will probably be 70-85 pages. If we hit the stretch goal for 7 adventures It will expand to be 85-100 pages. If we hit the stretch goal for 8 adventures, it will expand to be 100-120 pages. If we get all the way to 9 adventure modules, we could push this well over 130 pages!
The delivery time for the books includes the anticipation of the extra adventures.
Guest Writers
Our first guest writer is Brian Courtemanche. He will be joining our team at the $10,000 stretch goal level. He wrote one of the adventures in the award winning 'Doors To Darkness' book produced by Chaosium. In addition, Brian has been in Arkham Now; Terrors From Beyond; House of R'lyeh; Atomic Age Cthulhu; and More Adventures in Arkham Country for the Miskatonic River Press.
Our $20,000 stretch goal level will open up the 7th Adventure. This author worked with Brian on the award winning 'Doors to Darkness' book, Christopher Smith Adair. https://csmithadair.com/ His works include A Cold Fire Within, Atomic Age Cthulhu, New Tales of the Miskatonic Valley, Strange Aeons II, and articles in the Arkham Gazette.
Our $30,000 and $40,000 stretch goal scenario authors will remain under wraps until we draw closer.

Risks and challenges
There is almost no risk at all unless we sell a million or more copies, then there might be some delay in shipping, but I am willing to take on that challenge. Otherwise I do not see any real chance for any delays barring real life tragedy, or perhaps the stars aligning and Cthulhu rising.
The adventures are almost finished. The initial art is complete and the artist, Evgeny, is standing by ready to draw any stretch goal art. Our cartographer, Bryan, is ready to start on the maps as soon as we fund. We are working with the same printer that created the beautiful copies of the Star on the Shore.
I have published 6 other modules before this one, including The Star on the Shore, so I am very familiar with the process, and do not expect any surprises. I have also run 8 successful Kickstarters before this one. All have been successful and either delivered on time or are currently on schedule. Several of my Kickstarters have even delivered early.
I look forward to completing this project with the same efficiency and quality that I put forward with all my projects.
