Pentopia RPG - Art Book & Campaign Setting
S$ 7,666

Pentopia is an original roleplaying game world set within a magical garden realm thriving beneath the boughs of the Tree of Life – a land of lush color, fantastic flora and exotic fauna where humanity utilizes the boons and blessings of the insect-like Progenitors to maintain nature’s equilibrium and combat the malignant evils gnawing at the sacred Tree’s roots.
The Pentopia RPG Kickstarter includes an art book featuring some 100 pages of quality illustrations by concept artist CGlas, with a supplementary digital rulebook (compatible with the 5th Edition of the world’s greatest tabletop roleplaying game) by writer and game master Jason Koh of Neo Tokyo Project.
It will be published under Neo Tokyo Project's Doujin Market imprint, with an estimated release date of May 2019.

In this first volume, venture through the root-filled caverns of the Undergrowth, the fetid, sulfur ridden Duskridge, and the dangerous Depths of Thorn.
At the same time, enjoy a moment’s respite in hidden, sun-kissed glades and all that a civilization that lives in harmony with the natural world has to offer.

If we are funded, we will be able to produce a 96-to-128 page, full color 10.3" x 7.13" softcover art book with stunning illustrations and concept art that breathes life into the world of Pentopia.
This will be paired with a 96-to-128 page digital rulebook (compatible with 5th Edition) containing material for players and game masters to experience Pentopia firsthand. This rulebook will include exciting new class features, iconic characters, locations, lore, monsters and spells - enough to help you craft your own adventures and legacy in this mystical world.
If we are fully backed, we expect to release and begin shipping Pentopia to our backers in early May 2019.

Pentopia is an original campaign world more than 2 years in the making.
It was initially conceived by CGlas with inspiration from mythology, folklore and the diversity of nature. He taps into these aspects to populate the world with myriad elements and expansive ecology, all the while using brilliant colors to give the setting an ephemeral, almost fey-like quality.
At the same time, Jason draws upon his wealth of experience as a game master, writer and content developer to flesh out these elements and to create stories, game mechanics and options compatible with 5th Edition that will engage and excite.

The mortal races wield the power of the Progenitors — insect gods that now slumber deep within the Tree of Life — and the ambient mana that permeates the land to maintain nature’s equilibrium and to combat dangers that encroach from within the sacred Tree’s roots.

Rigorous play testing has been done on CGlas's Twitch channel, at open tabletop RPG demonstrations and with friends and local tabletop community leaders to help us streamline not just the mechanics, but also to garner input about the aesthetics of Pentopia.

Ultimately, we believe that a world is not complete without living, breathing characters, and delight in working with the community at large to populate this setting with NPCs during our convention appearances.

Pentopia is very much a labor of love for us, and we hope that this world will be one that you wish to adventure in too.

For tabletop RPG gamers and collectors, these add-ons provide you the ability to customize your iniital pledge. All add-ons are Kickstarter exclusives, and cannot be found in any Reward Tier.
To include an add-on, simply add the value of it to your pledge. We will contact you after the Kickstarter campaign ends to confirm which add-on you want. For example: If you have pledged S$ 55 and want an S$ 45 set of Prismatic Ore dice, simply pledge S$ 100.
If you've already purchased the art book, shipping for add-ons is free!

We are currently working with partners to value add to this project, and will be revealing more add-ons in the weeks to come.

To ensure the highest standards of logistics and fulfillment possible, all rewards will be shipped from Singapore (in cardboard boxes with bubble wrap) via registered post.
For Singapore-based backers, we also offer the option of self-collection at conventions and selected community meets, including Doujin Market 2019.
This provides our Singapore-based backers and backers visiting Singapore for key pop culture events with a more affordable option, and is charged at a nominal sum of $5 (you save $7). This fee includes Kickstarter's charges and the cost of packaging materials.
Don't forget that you will need to present a valid photo ID for verification when collecting your rewards in person.

Jason’s love affair with Dungeons & Dragons began more than 20 years ago, with a hand-me-down 1983 Red Box.
Since then, he has terrorized numerous players both on- and offline as Dungeon Master. He contributed to the Stygian D&D magazine and numerous Dungeons & Dragons fan community projects at the crest of the Open Gaming wave, and was a writer for Realms of Evil Games Publishing in its heyday.
Presently, he plots world domination as the Overlord of Neo Tokyo Project, Singapore’s premier pop culture marketing collective. He is the producer of Singapore's largest popular art convention - Doujin Market, co-founder of the RPG Day Singapore movement, a champion for Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League Singapore community, and will be releasing several adventures on Dungeon Masters Guild, including Singapore's first Convention Created Content "Ooze There?", which premiers 9 Jun 2018.
Jason insists he’s a social rogue (though everyone knows he’s a bard), loves cunning wordplay, and believes that “Vicious Mockery” is the best spell ever.

Risks and challenges
The team has an aggregate 25 years of experience in design, marketing, promotions and publishing, and the project will be supported by the Neo Tokyo Project, an agency that has worked extensively with brands, events, supply chains and fulfillment in the pop culture and game development industry.
We aim to bring you content of the highest quality and the bulk of the work is already done. This Kickstarter will help us to generate the funds necessary to print and produce the art book, as well as to complete additional art and writing for the digital rulebook.
Through our partnerships with established printers and suppliers around the world, we have attempted to keep any risks to this project to a minimum. We have also incorporated buffers for any potential issues that may arise during the production process.
We are committed to ensuring that we are on schedule for a May 2019 release, and are happy to share exclusive tidbits from our project with backers and fans so you can also be a part of our collaborative creation process.
