If it were me, I'd have machined the stand out of aluminum tubing to begin with.
To heck with casting.
I know you mean well...but I'd have left the stand in stainless and kept the top surface finish rough or at least different. Thanks for the update!
Or, leave it in stainless since we're already there, it's been promised to the backers, and it would mean a quicker completion.
From your original campaign:
"Our focus has been to de-risk the campaign and overcome any potential concerns for our backers. These steps have involved; funding all the research and development costs, sourcing manufacturing partners with several rounds of samples and strategically planning the process post campaign. This places us in a position of being confident that we can deliver our pledges if we reach our funding goal as our goal is based on how much we need to raise for the project to be viable."
In update 7, you informed us that Aluminum, if cast, wouldn't polish correctly if then machined, due to air in the casting process. Why are we headed back to that original problem?
"It would be ok for the brushed finish but we wouldn’t be able to get it to polish well enough. I’ve since found out that its due to the materials inherent gas content which causes its surface to be rougher than desired."
As we pass half a calendar late, yet another redesign seems ill-advised, but that's just an observation.
This is all starting to feel like one giant scam.
