Life in a Box is a mixed media project which came about one rainy, grumpy day.
I was riding the bus into work, bemoaning the abysmal weather and generally having a rough time of things, when I noticed how beautiful the water and condensation on the bus window was.
For the next 20 minutes, I took pictures of the window with varying scenes behind it, producing a collection of beautiful abstract images.
After further inspiration and plans for the works, I have created this kickstarter in the hopes of funding the printing of these images to 12 1.5" deep, either 8x8" or 10x10" square canvases.
After printing, I plan to embellish them with acrylic paints and a thick epoxy finish to complete them.
The 12 pieces will be displayed as an installation.
I have been invited to show work in Seattle twice this year so far, in late April at the Bemis Building and in July at Poco Wine Room. I would like to display this project in those two shows.
Canvas Prints: $40x12=$480, Shipping: $20, Epoxy: $25, Acrylics: $30, Backer incentives: $10 to $60, 10% to Kickstarter/Amazon = $676.5
If the kickstarter goal is exceeded it will be applied to the project, either by printing larger canvases, more canvases, creating an artistic hanging solution for the canvases, adding a sound element to the installation, or so on.
