It's been two years since we released our debut record "Giants", and we've been itching to get back into the studio with our new material. We're asking for your help to make this record happen. We hope that you all are proud of helping us to make our first record, because if it weren't for you we wouldn't have moved the band out to Los Angeles, done three national tours, built an international fanbase or received praise from music critics in multiple countries in the past two years.
We need your help with this Kickstarter campaign so we can fund this new record and help make our vision for it come true. With this record we're reaching higher than we did for the release of "Giants". We're doing this in a couple of different ways: we're going to be touring the new record up and down the Eastern US & Canada, we're going to do a national radio campaign and we're going to place our songs in several different TV shows and movies! What we need your help funding is the recording process itself, which will be at Archer Avenue Studios (where we recorded "Giants"), and the radio campaign, which will be aimed at getting us to chart on the CMJ music charts in order to put us on a national level as far as radio exposure.
I can't begin to tell you how thankful we are for your support both with your help spreading the word about our band and your financial support helping us to turn our dreams and vision into an actual product that you can feel and hear. Through your donation to this project you are directly helping connect the dots between us and our dream lives.
About the new record: The new album that we're putting out will be a five song EP called "The Wild Pack: Haunt These Woods" that will serve as the first chapter in our new concept series. "The Wild Pack" concept explores the joy of togetherness, the sadness of being apart and the uncertainty that comes with searching for a new pack. I hope that through this "The Wild Pack: Haunt These Woods" and the subsequent chapters that will come we can all experience these feelings, thus creating our own pack with each other. By donating to this Kickstarter, you will officially become a leader in this pack as someone who helped this new record of our get off the ground and pick up steam.
About the Radio Campaign: A previous version of me might have thought that a radio promotion campaign would be a secondary priority to the actual recording of the music, however, as I've grown as a professional musician I've become more aware of the importance of proper promotion within the business. It is easy for a record to get put out by a band, and unless it is properly promoted via radio and music press outlets, it will become swallowed by the internet and not seen by nearly the amount of people it deserves. This is one of our fears with this new record, so we're asking for your help in insuring that we can properly promote the new record that we are all working so hard to make a reality. With that being said, we're planning on working with Tinderbox Music to help bring our music to the forefront of the college radio circuit. In our eyes, our target demographic is that of the college radio circuit and after doing our research and starting to create relationships in this industry we've come to find that Tinderbox Music is the company we trust to help get us where we're going. Their website is Tinderboxmusic.com and they've most notably worked with Imagine Dragons, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's and Twenty One Pilots for radio promotion as well as distribution.
$2,400 for the recording itself, $500 for the mastering, $600 for the physical pressing of the CD's, $2,000 for the radio campaign.
Risks and challenges
The main obstacle we can see in completing this project is lack of funding. If we cannot raise the money it takes, then we can't produce our new songs the way we want you to hear them or promote them the way that they deserve to be promoted.
After we have successfully funded the project, there is a possibility that our record won't be as well received as we are hoping, thus making the promotion of it difficult. However, with the positive reactions we've received coming from the live crowds for whom we've played the new record, we feel extremely confident that not only will our current supporters love listening to the record on repeat, but we'll also be able to win over masses of people who have never before heard of us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
