Nebia is a fully self-installed shower system with an adjustable bracket and a portable wand that showers you with water like you’ve never experienced before. Nebia atomizes water into millions of tiny droplets with 10 times more surface area than your regular shower. We have been working on Nebia for nearly 5 years and we have developed numerous iterations and prototypes. Along the way, we adopted technologies from aerospace engineering to optimize every aspect of our shower nozzles and to create our H2MICRO™ technology. Five years ago, we set out to build an amazing new shower experience and dramatically reduce water consumption. We created something so much more than just a shower. Nebia establishes an entirely new standard in water use, reducing shower water consumption by up to 70%. With Nebia, we will enable millions of people to take ownership over their daily shower, save thousands of gallons of water per year, and substantially reduce their overall environmental impact.
Nebia also helps you conserve energy. Traditional household showers consume markedly more energy than a Nebia just to heat the water and the majority of that hot water goes straight down the drain. Nebia is 13 times more efficient at delivering the heat you pay for to your body, making your daily shower in a Nebia 13 times more thermally efficient. We developed Nebia with our users in mind. With the help of world class industrial design firm, Box Clever, we designed Nebia to be beautiful, intuitive, and functional. We chose premium materials crafted to provide an unparalleled visual and tactile finish and an iconic design fit for every home.
The Head built from a high density polymer with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), delivers the perfect frame to nest the H2MICRO™ nozzles. With head rotation up to 45°, the head creates a whole new degree of versatility. The head was designed with all hair types in mind, pet hair included.
The Bracket is the backbone of Nebia. Made of anodized aluminum, the bracket rigidly attaches to your water supply and adheres to your wall, secured to the wall without breaking your bathroom tile. The Bracket houses an internal channel through which water flows to the head and the wand. It is elegant yet incredibly wear resistant.
The Arm slides 27 inches up and down the Bracket to optimize and customize the spray pattern to your body shape and size. In other words, Nebia was built to accommodate everyone from basketball players to children.
The Wand, ergonomically designed, has just the right heft and grip. Paired with the dock, it gives you a portable dimension of water and that extra spray of pure pleasure.
Atomizing nozzles use pressure and geometry to control the dispersion and break up of fluid streams. These nozzles have been developed over the last century for specific technical applications, such as injecting fuel, powderizing metal, and efficient agricultural irrigation. While regular shower nozzles, called plain orifice nozzles, produce a straight stream of water with large droplets, our atomizing nozzles produce 100s of droplets dispersed into precise patterns.
Nebia comprises an array of specialized nozzles, each individually focused on warming and rinsing various regions of your body. Users can also choose a Strength mode with a higher velocity spray with slightly larger droplet sizes—yielding larger momenta. This gives you a more traditional sensation of pressure without the excess volume of a regular shower.
Nebia’s greater dispersion of droplets yields a larger volume of air surrounded by—and intermixed with—warm droplets of water. Therefore, the warm droplets heat a larger volume of air faster and more efficiently.
Our nozzle geometries are engineered to release droplets at different sizes and speeds. At any given cross-section of air between the nozzles and you, Nebia comprises 100s more droplets dispersed over 5 times the area compared to a regular shower. Translation: water completely surrounds and gets you wet all while using 70% less water. It’s not magic; it’s science!
Over 61% of the cost of your shower goes straight to heating the water you use. Yet, in a regular shower, 97% of the thermal energy is lost down the drain. The remaining 3% of the heat is transferred into the air and into you. Translation: you may feel warm but the water in your typical showerhead does very little to actually warm you.
More droplets mean greater droplet surface area. Since Nebia atomizes the water into millions of droplets, the total surface area of all of the Nebia droplets is greater than the total surface area of larger droplets emitted by a regular showerhead. Thus, Nebia can transfer 13 times more heat from the water into the environment and into you. This is by far the most efficient way to warm both you and the air surrounding you.
In order to provide the best possible showering experience, we have designed a Multi-Layer mesh filter that is significantly better than the standard single-layer filter included with most showerheads. This means less clogging and more consistent water pressure over the lifespan of your shower.

Multi-Layer Filter “in-depth”:
Most typical household showerheads include a single-layer mesh filter upstream from the nozzles so that particles like sand, Teflon tape, and other debris don’t clog your shower. Over time, this one layer clogs with particulate because too much debris remains on that one layer, restricting water flow through the filter and decreasing water pressure. No one likes a low-pressure shower. By including multiple mesh layers of different mesh sizes, Nebia increases filtration surface area and decreases mesh size, allowing us to filter more particulate and smaller particles across multiple layers. Our Multi-Layer mesh filters out large particulate (e.g., sand) in the first layer, intermediate sized particulate in a second layer, and even smaller particulate in subsequent layers. By increasing the filter surface area through which the water flows, we can catch more particulate and minimize pressure drop. Additionally, by including multiple mesh sizes, we can distribute particulate across multiple layers to limit clogging of a single layer of mesh.
To install Nebia, you need:
(1) A shower that exits from the wall (not from the ceiling)
(2) Water supply at 5 feet from the floor or more.
(3) The following shower measurements:
Before installing, please measure the distance from the floor of your shower to the NPT outlet and make sure it's a minimum of 5 feet (i.e., where your shower head connects to the wall).
• >6 inches from NPT (where your shower head connects to the wall) to the ceiling of your shower
• >24 inches from NPT faucet or shower handle.
• >35 PSI water pressure
• >115°F water temperature (recommended)
Nebia does not require: a plumber or breaking bathroom tiles.

We have built dozens of prototypes and have had over 500 people test Nebia. We experimented with countless configurations and variables implementing the many learnings we gained along the way.

Nebia started as a dream in 2010 when Carlos, one of our founders, wanted to provide a better shower experience for his customers. As the head of a large health club company in Mexico City, water consumption was one of his biggest concerns. So he turned to his dad, Emilio, a retired engineer and tinkerer, who led IBM in LATAM in the 60s and 70s. Emilio and Carlos labored for more than two years, eventually stumbling on a prototype that Carlos’ customers loved.
Not long after, Carlos and Philip met through Endeavor, a global nonprofit that promotes economic development through scaling entrepreneurship. Philip, working in Mexico City through a fellowship, and Carlos, the Chairman of Endeavor, together crafted a vision to bring Nebia to the world. They would base the company in San Francisco and try to change how people around the world interact with water in their daily lives.
It wasn’t until they met Gabe in 2014 that the founding team was born and they were able to overcome some difficult engineering challenges. At the time, Gabe was working at Apple on the iPhone manufacturing design team.
The Nebia shower is just our first step in building the company. We believe to our very core that companies have a responsibility and an opportunity to make products that have a real impact on the world, and be profitable while doing so. The two ends are not mutually exclusive; in fact, they are interdependent for the long-term success of humanity.
Our vision is to scale our technology and reach all corners of the world where sanitation and water conservation is most vital. Nebia was born in the developing world and the vision has always been to make it affordable enough to go back.

Risks and challenges
Our primary engineering challenge is to perfect the fluid pathways and nozzles and translate our current version into a mass production model. We have been working at this for several years, and after 12 generations of the prototype, we believe Nebia is ready.
Another potential challenge is manufacturing the complex arm. We are engaged with manufacturers, who have decades of experience forming aluminum, and we feel confident that we can achieve our elegant and ambitious design.
We understand that the manufacturing process is difficult but our team and partners are more than up to the challenge. We are working hard to minimize the risks of these delays and bring the product to your doorstep as swiftly as possible. At this time, we're offering Nebia to customers in countries where we are confident of being able to ship at a reasonable cost. The units will be fairly sizable in size and weight. Please sign up for our mailing list to stay up-to-date!
For some countries, we are only offering the 1 unit pledge as shipping multiple units would result in a very high shipping charge. We hope to address this issue in the future.

If you have hard water, Nebia can be cleaned like other showers using an acidic solution or cleaner like CLR if build up occurs.
I have a European style shower, with a mixer faucet at waist level connected to the shower head. Can I use Nebia?
Nebia is designed to be attached to a dedicated pipe protruding from the wall at least 1.5 meters (~5 feet) high.
We realize that many showers (especially in Europe) connect to a waist-high water source via a flexible tube. This version of Nebia offered on Kickstarter will not work, but we will develop a compatible model in the future.

Can Nebia be installed in a fiberglass tub or tiled shower stall, with the shower head coming out of the wall above.
Yes, the wall spacers, included witht Nebia, are designed specifically for firberglass and tile shower stalls that have the shower arm exiting above the tile/ fiberglass on a slightly recessed plane. The spacers will allow you to install Nebia Flush against your wall and tile/fiberglass.
My shower system consists of a wall-mounted water heater connected to a shower head. Can Nebia serve as an attachment/replacement?
We designed Nebia for North American shower plumbing, where the shower head is attached to a dedicated pipe protruding from the wall at least 1.5 meters (~5 feet) from the floor.
The current design unfortunately doesn't accommodate this type of setup, but we may develop a compatible model in the future.

At this point, we are not establishing partnerships. We are happy to discuss partnerships further after we complete our Kickstarter campaign.
At this time, we don't yet have any showrooms or locations where potential customers can try out Nebia for themselves.
