About this project
Hello, Kickstarters. I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to show you what I consider to be the next "must have" accessory for the iPad, iPad mini, and any other tablets.
A couple of years ago, my wife and I traded in our digital camera and our family camcorder for two iPhones and never looked back! I immediately became discouraged with the lack of photo and video accessories for the iPhone so I began to design and develop my own products. My company has grown to become one of the top brands for photo and video accessories for smartphones. About 6 months ago, I bought an iPad and I immediately realized that I was using the tablet for a lot of my picture taking and video recording so once again, I became discouraged with the lack of photo/video accessories for tablets. I began designing the tabMount and tabFlex about a month ago and after some initial tweaks and changes, I am pleased to show you the prototype of the first truly universal tripod adapter for tablets: tabMount and flexible leg tripod for tablets: tabFlex. With your help, we can begin mass producing these right away!
Who am I?
My name is Noah Rasheta and I am a product designer/developer, husband, father, and gadget lover from the Park City, UT area (Kamas, UT to be exact). I studied film and multimedia at Utah Valley University and graduated in 2004. I started to design and develop products in 2010 and my love for film and photography inspired to design a product line of photo and video accessories for the iPhone called iStabilizer. My product designs have become very popular and they can now be found in several major retail stores in over 20 countries. My products have been featured on some of the top tech blogs and on all of the major news networks and media outlets I'm posting this project to get your help to launch my newest product designs, the tabMount and the tabFlex!
What I've already completed:
- The product design, 3d files, renderings, cad files, and all engineering specs are complete.
- 3 working prototypes have been produced and tested to ensure the highest quality and durability in the design.
- I've negotiated the mass production costs and the tooling for manufacturing of the moulds and all required components.
What still needs to be done (This will begin immediately after the project is funded):
- Tooling of the moulds for both the tabMount and the tabFlex. (About 3 weeks). This is an expensive step!
- Mass production will begin once the moulds and the tooling are complete. (4 - 6 weeks to produce the first batch of inventory)
- Shipping: Anyone who orders through Kickstarter will have their product shipped immediately after the 1st batch is completed. Products will arrive roughly 1 - 2 weeks after the manufacturing is complete. I anticipate products will start shipping in early March and arrive by mid March or earlier.
Imagine being able to mount your iPad, iPad mini, or whatever tablet you are currently using to a standard tripod. That's exactly what you'll be able to do with the tabMount. Your tablet on a tripod can be used as a teleprompter, or to capture steady photos and videos. The tabMount will also allow you to use your tablet with other great photo and video gadgets.
Check out how easy it is to mount your tablet onto a standard tripod with the tabMount:
The tabFlex is the tabMount + Flexible Legs. The great thing about the tabFlex is that you can unscrew the tabMount and still use it anywhere else you need.
Help us make this a reality!

Risks and challenges
The greatest risk involved with product design is manufacturing. Since I've already designed, prototyped, and developed 6 other products, I am very confident in my abilities to have the tabMount and tabFlex mass produced without any major issues. I have gone through 4 rounds of prototyping with the tabMount already and I am very confident in the quality of this specific design. I am already experienced in the logistics of manufacturing in mass quantity and you can rest assured that with your help, we can make this product a reality without any major problems. I am available to chat by email or phone if you have any questions or concerns along the way.
