You know the future of the stock market. Trade on insider information to earn huge profits and manipulate the market to bankrupt your opponents. Invest wisely and accumulate the greatest wealth in Stockpile.
Stockpile is an economic board game that combines the traditional stockholding strategy of buy low, sell high with several additional mechanics to create a fast-paced, engaging and interactive experience.
In Stockpile, players act as stock market investors at the end of the 20th century hoping to strike it rich, and the investor with the most money at the end of the game is the winner. Stockpile was built around the idea of imperfect knowledge. No investor knows everything about the stock market, but everyone does know something. This philosophy manifests in Stockpile in two unique ways – insider information and the stockpile.
First, players are given insider information each round. This information dictates how a stock’s value will change at the end of the round. By privately learning if a stock is going to move up or down, each player has a chance to act ahead of the market by buying or selling at the right time.
Second, players purchase their stocks by bidding on piles of cards called stockpiles. These stockpiles will contain a mixture of face-up and face-down cards placed by other players in the game. In this way, nobody will know all of the cards in the stockpiles. Not all cards are good either. Trading fees can poison the piles by making players pay more than they bid. By putting stocks and other cards up for auction, Stockpile catalyzes player interaction, especially when potential profits from insider information are on the line.
Both of these mechanics are combined with some stock market elements to make players consider multiple factors when selling a stock. Do you hold onto a stock in hopes of catching a lucrative stock split or do you sell now to avoid the potential company bankruptcy? Can you hold onto your stock until the end of the game to become the majority shareholder, or do you need the liquidity of cash now for future bidding? Do you risk it all by investing heavily into one company, or do you mitigate your risk by diversifying your portfolio?
In the end, everyone knows something about the stock market, so it all comes down to strategy execution. Will you be able to navigate the movements of the stock market with certainty? Or will your investments go under from poor predictions?
A basic version of Stockpile PNP (Print and Play) is available here for free. The final, fully illustrated PNP version is included in all of our pledge levels.
If you are interested in playing Stockpile today, there is also an online version on Roll20.net. All you need is a headset/microphone. Please email Brett@nauvoogames.com to schedule a game.
Board Game Corner (Part of the Dice Tower Network): "Stockpile is a quick game of financial speculation that can be enjoyed even by those who don't give a whit about Wall Street. The game lets you use deductive reasoning to better your odds and provides the guilty pleasure of insider trading without any of the actual guilt."
The Chalk: "Bluffing, set collection, push your luck... There's a whole lot going on in this game, and what I like about it is its short playing time."
Undead Viking: "It's an awesome, tense, fun little money game...I love the hidden information. I love putting the cards down and setting traps for my unsuspecting players." (Final thoughts: 23:00)
Weaponsgrade Tabletop: "I really liked Stockpile. The thing that really gets me is the hidden information...You have to play to your opponents. You have to see what they're doing, how they're doing it."
BoardGaming.com: "Stockpile is easy to learn with some great decision making challenges...Solid mechanics and a great use of bidding mechanics will make you want to play (and in some cases PAY) again..." Read More

Stockpile's Kickstarter will be shipped with two expansions: Investors and the Advanced Board.
The Investors expansion comes with 10 Investor Cards that give each player a unique ability to use every round and changes the amount of starting money. Each player receives two investor cards to choose from at the start of each game and picks one. This adds asymmetrical game play and helps shape distinct strategies for each player. See Game Rules above for a complete listing of Investor Cards and their abilities.
The Advanced Game Board expansion changes the scale of different stock's values. Some stocks become riskier than others and some provide cash on a more regular basis. You will want to consider a comprehensive portfolio strategy when deciding which stocks to purchase, so this expansion adds a greater amount of depth and complexity for more heavy strategy gamers to enjoy.
We are determined to make Stockpile a game worthy of your collection, and one that you will be proud to show off to your friends. For this reason, we have developed several stretch goals to improve the quality of the components in the game, so that it looks fantastic on your table.
Thanks to Amazon's supply chain in the US, Canada, Germany, and the UK, we are able to distribute Stockpile in a cost effective way to USA and most of the EU.
Below is how we're calculating shipment costs for Stockpile based on estimates we've received for a package of our game's size and weight.
Unfortunately, shipping individual packages to parts of the EU and to the rest of the world is still very expensive. If possible, we are happy to work with you to send multiple copies to a single convenient location, where your shipping costs are as minimal as they can be. See below chart for bulk group shipping options.
Nauvoo Games was founded by Brett Sobol and Seth Van Orden in 2014. Our goal is to create memories for families and friends through the play of tabletop games.
We worked closely with two fantastic people to complete the artwork and design for Stockpile, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
Jacqui Davis - Jacqui is an artist living in the UK with gaming credits that include Belle of the Ball, Skyway Robbery, Fidelitas, and Euphoria, among others. You can check out her portfolio here.
Ian O'Toole - Ian is an Irish illustrator and graphic designer living and working in Perth, Western Australia. He combines over fifteen years' commercial experience with a deep love of boardgaming to produce work in a wide variety of styles. His most recent projects include Alien Frontiers: Outer Belt for Game Salute and Nemo's War for Victory Point Games. We absolutely loved working with him, so please check out his portfolio here.
Risks and challenges
Nauvoo Games is very excited to launch its first published game - Stockpile. A tremendous amount of work and playtesting has already gone into this campaign, and we couldn't be more proud of the end product.
At this point, Stockpile's artwork and design is already complete, and we are currently working with the manufacturer to format and send files for printing. Now, all we need is your help to fund the first print run and ship the games to you.
Although Stockpile is our first published game, we believe that our preparation, work ethic, and experience with global operations will make this campaign successful. We understand that game publishing is not an easy task and involves many unforeseen challenges. However, we are excited to face those challenges and determined to keep our promise of delivering a high quality game on time to your doorstep. If all goes well, we may even have it there before our stated time frame.
Over the past year, we have gone to great lengths to network with other Kickstarter game publishers and learn from their mistakes. We are confident that Stockpile will succeed in areas where others have not. Currently, we have plans to manufacture the game through TheFluxCapacity, who has direct experience with Kickstarter. At this time, our distribution will go via Amazon, and we are in talks with other partners to help best deliver the game to you.
Throughout this process, we promise to be responsive, transparent, and hard working to ensure your satisfaction of our game and its delivery, so that you too can make great memories around the table with Stockpile.
