EP on the way... what's been happening

Hello all!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful 2015. It has been a little awhile since my last post and I wanted to give you all an update to let everyone know what has been happening with the EP, and why it is not out yet.

Originally the record was slated to be finished in the summer/fall of 2014. Unfortunately, my producer became very ill and recording was delayed. In hopes that he would get better, I chose to stay with him and wait for his recovery. I have recently learned, however, that his condition has gotten worse and he may not be able to return to the studio until March to complete the EP.

So, I am now in the process of deciding whether to continue with this producer, or, to work with another friend of mine who has recently stepped forward and offered to help finish the project with me. I will be making this decision over the next few days, however, my priority is to finish the EP as soon as possible, since you have all been waiting so patiently and, deserve it sooner rather than later.

I want to truly apologize for the delay of this EP release. This is the first fundraising campaign I have ever done and I sort of dove in head first not knowing what to expect. I found that things don't always happen the way you think they are going to, and I've learned from this experience you can't control everything, and sometimes you just have to learn to roll with the punches. So, instead of getting upset over something unexpected that I could have not foreseen with my producer getting sick, I am simply planning to move forward and get the record done however I can, even if that means switching producers. My current producer has been incredible up to this point, and I hope and pray, as I hope you all will too, that he has a speedy recovery and feels better very soon.

      Hi Natalie,
Thanks for the honest update! Please hang in there.

I truly think you should make the choice that will give you the best possible recording, the best possible CD, that will feel the best. In the long run we'll all be happier with the best you can do. That is more important than worry if it will be delayed.

If that means going with the new person who kindly offered to help, then go for that and enjoy it! However, if it means waiting for the original producer, who has already started the project with you, then you should wait.

This is all especially true if you still have vocals to record -- to choose which will make you feel best in the studio.

I think you should go with your heart and ask yourself which will come out the best.

I'll be here for you either way and I'm sure everyone else will too.

That's my "hit" on all of it.

I'm interested to see how you decide -- you've got my support either way, whatever feels right to you.

      Hope you're well and happy,
      Barbara Dyskant
