PARTY with Narratively!!

We're almost there! Thank you all for your continued support! Your very generous pledges, emails, blog posts and shout-outs on Twitter and Facebook have blown us away.

As a token of our gratitude (and because, like the good journalists that we are, we love to have a good time!) we're throwing you a party! Anyone who pledges or has already pledged to our campaign, regardless of the amount, is invited to join us on Tuesday, August 28, at Brooklyn Brewery (79 North 11th Street, in Brooklyn) from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

There'll be a D.J. spinning very dance-worthy funk and soul, standup comedy, and live, true storytelling. More details are here

Come mingle, come dance, come drink, come celebrate the future of storytelling! (And help us get closer to meeting our $50,000 goal!) Please spread the word! (For your convenience, here's a link to tweet about the party.)

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on August 28.

Thanks, Nicole! It's really sweet of you to follow-up. No worries — we totally get where you were coming from. Thanks so much for your support; we hope to meet you down the road!

hey guys. after seeing michael's comment, I should apologize for being smartass. My actual response was that of concern that the money i had donated was going to buy drinks instead of toward the program, and I did not understand why they were throwing a party to celebrate when nothing had yet been accomplished.

i am super excited about narratively and wish I could come to the party. sure hope this works out.

There should be an entire Narratively issue devoted to the psychology behind smart ass commenters, like Nicole... and me for that matter. This is a very meta. I'm calling someone out for being a smartass and in so doing, I am being a smartass myself.

Entertainment on us! Unfortunately, with the cost of putting on the event, we just can't afford to buy drinks, too — especially considering the way journalists and their ilk like to party! This is, after all, a fundraiser... :) We hope you'll still come, Liz!

      Hey Nicole,

Definitely a valid observation. Maybe you're right — "getting there" is more accurate than "almost there." Many campaigns, ours included, start off strong, taper off a bit in the middle, and kick up again at the end. We're still on track to hit our goal, but we need the continued support of you and others. Hence our outreach (or badgering, depending on where you're seated. :)

Thanks a lot for your interest!
