I wrote this newsletter directly from Kibbutz Ein Gedi at the Dead Sea on the day that Israel, Jordan & the Palestinian Authority have signed a historic agreement affecting the future of the Dead Sea.
I attended a conference on Cross Boundary Cooperation for Water and Tourism, speaking about NakedSea as a social enterprise in the hopes of influencing other companies to follow suit and give back to the Dead Sea. I was joined by Dr. Clive Lipchin (Director of Center for Trans-boundary Water Management) from the Arava Institute of Environmental Studies who gave his insights on the RedSea-Dead Sea initiative while leading a tour of the Dead Sea sinkholes. More about this later, and welcome to the 2nd edition of the NakedSea newsletter whose purpose it to update you on the latest developments at Naked Sea Salt and the Dead Sea. In this issue we are talking about:
- Holiday Offers + AbesMarket
- NakedSea Blog & Recipes
- Dead Sea Road Trip Footage
- Red / Dead Insights

I spent the past few days at the Dead Sea and had the chance to visit some exciting places: My 1st stop was the EcoMe village near Jericho which is a regional cooperation project started by some graduates of the Arava Institute. It brings Israelis and Palestinians together where they run an ecological village and live together conducting workshops. They invited us for a tasty vegetarian lunch which we spiced up with some NakedSea Salt.
My 2nd stop was visiting with Sam whose family has been harvesting salt at the Dead Sea since 1964, and is the source of the salt used in NakedSea. We captured some great footage from the end of this years salt harvest (which runs from May to November).
My 3rd stop was at Kibbutz Ein Gedi where the regional conference took place. We captured some great images of the Dead Sea just before the 1st major rainstorm of the season hit. You can also see a video of my talk at the conference.
We were fortunate to catch Dr. Clive Lipchin who heads the Center for Transboundary Water Management at the Arava Institute leading a tour of some of the sinkholes at the Dead Sea.
Watch a video of his response and perspective on the agreement that was just signed and how it affects the Dead Sea's future.
On behalf of myself and the entire NakedSea family we want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We hope that Naked Sea Salt will enhance your meals during this time and look forward to hearing from you.
