NATE & MARGARET is wrapped and editing has already begun! It is looking REALLY great! See for yourself by checking out the new trailer above! We just need a bit more help to get us through the post-production process. Funds from this campaign will be used to pay for a professional sound mix, color correction and music licenses.
We have some great incentives for you to choose from on the right. Here is some more info about the project:
NATE & MARGARET centers on a 19 year old film student named Nate, and his best friend Margaret, a 52 year old spinster who dreams of being a stand-up comedian. Nate's audacious classmate Darla sets him up on a date with James, which causes Nate's new life to shake apart his friendship with Margaret, who goes off to start a new life of her own.
Nathan Adloff directed the feature film, which was co-written with Justin D.M. Palmer. Adloff and Palmer have written several successful indie comedies together in Chicago. Adloff’s first two comedy shorts, UNTIED STRANGERS and IRREGULAR FRUIT took Best Comedy Short at the Lake County Film Festival in 2008 and 2009. They went on to create the new episodic comedy series BAD SIDES (which just played in the 2011 Chicago Comedy TV Pilot Competition), as well as the BlipTV web series LEMONS.
The small-budget feature NATE & MARGARET was shot on location in Chicago in late May through June 2011, and utilized a host of hilarious Chicago favorites, including the stars Natalie West and Tyler Ross, as well as Conor McCahill and Gaby Hoffmann. Budgeted in the mid five-figures, the film was produced by successful indie favorite Ash Christian through Cranium Entertainment. Director of Photography was long-time Adloff & Palmer collaborator Brian Levin. The team was fortunate enough to have Laura Klein on board as First Assistant Director.
PLEASE help support this local Chicago film! If we don't reach our goal, we don't get a penny! We make our projects not for the purposes of profit, but to have excellent and enjoyable new work made locally, with local talent and to share with the world how vibrant and talented our Chicago filmmaking scene is! One of the great benefits of using Kickstarter this way is that it is easy to share with your friends, and to use as a way to keep apprised of the film and its progress. So please SHARE! Tell your friends! Tell your family! No donation is too small! We want you involved in making our dreams come true by helping us finish this film!
THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT!
