About this project
How Many Cocktail Recipes Do You Know?
Vodka Tonic? Margarita? Old Fashioned? Long Island Iced Tea?
From the makers of Dinner's Ready!, Happy Hour! is the first card game to help get you buzzed, challenging players to collect and deliver cocktails based on actual recipes! Not only is Happy Hour! fun and competitive, the more you play, the more familiar you'll become with cocktails!
*Drinking IS NOT a required element of playing the Happy Hour! card game, but we do have suggested drinking rules for full enjoyment!*
Happy Hour! is easy to set up and fun to play!
Happy Hour! is a game that fundamentally parallels the bartending experience of assembling mixed drink orders as quickly as possible.
Overview of gameplay: Players are dealt a hand of INGREDIENT CARDS, containing alcohols, mixers, and toppings.
- There are four kinds of alcohol ingredients: vodka, whiskey, gin, and tequila!
- There are a handful of mixers, including triple sec, sweet & sour, club soda, tonic water, ginger beer and vermouth!
- The topping cards consist of garnish (orange/lime/lemon/olive), cherry, and mint!
- There are also a dozen action cards which can help or hinder your drink-making progress, including spilled drinks, restock the bar, "scratch that," make it a double, and wild cards!
THE BAR: A row of ingredient cards available during each turn.
THE COUNTER: A row of recipe cards that must be fulfilled.
Using these cards in combination, players can create any one of the 21 drink RECIPE CARDS. Drinks range on a scale of 4-7 points, depending on quantity of ingredients required.
The first "bartender" to collect 21 points wins!
Happy Hour! is a fun card game for 2-4 adults, with rounds typically requiring 10-30 minutes.
With drink in hand, Happy Hour! combines the knowledge and speed of bartending with the excitement and entertainment of card games! The more you drinks recipes you make, the faster you'll become at recognizing drink combinations in your hand. Soon enough, you'll be a cocktail connoisseur, knowing over a dozen actual cocktail recipes off the top of your head!
Gameplay Variations Are Up To You!

Thank You for Backing Happy Hour!
Happy Hour! is a card game intended for entertainment purposes. Drinking alcohol is by no means a requirement to play the game. We ask that any drinking done in association with the enjoyment of Happy Hour! be done responsibly and please choose a designated driver.
Risks and challenges
Just like any other card game, there are a number of risks and challenges that we may encounter in developing and delivering the Happy Hour! card game. In 2015 we successfully launched the game Dinner's Ready! on Kickstarter and delivered the game to dozens of people internationally.
During development, we took into consideration a number of potential problems that could arise before, during, and after, the crowdsourcing campaign. At this point, the only "risk" we are taking is that we are considering using a manufacturer in the United States, a different manufacturer than we used for Dinner's Ready! Nevertheless, worst case scenario, we're confident they will be able to deliver the quality product we're hoping to provide in a timely manner.
Some other potential problems that could arise after publishing would be, due to a massive volume of orders (fingers crossed!), the printing takes longer than projected. While we have set a turnaround of 3 months for printing and shipping, we're hoping to deliver earlier than our deadline.
Another potential problem is packing and shipping out the product, especially internationally. In the event we have a huge number of units to provide, we established an efficient method of shipping during the fulfillment of Dinner's Ready!. We even have leftover boxes for shipping! And last, but certainly not least, we have a team of volunteers who are ready to help us pack and ship off the games!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
