Hi everyone,

As we previously said, we are running some tests before submitting Qmote to compliance testing, which is mandatory when we export Qmote to different countries.

In the video, we are running an ESD(Electrostatic discharge) simulation, a required test of CE marking. This is to ensure the circuit and the components of Qmote won't be damaged after withstanding the discharge due to metal contact. You can clearly see the sparks around Qmote caused by the discharge from the ESD gun.

And this photo is to show that Qmote SURVIVED! (Yay!) The integrated circuit still works after being victimized by 16KV electrostatic discharge.

There will be more "techy" updates coming since we are working on all sorts of compliances. You may also let us know what you would like to know more in the comment area below.

Thank you so much for the support. We are trying our best to deliver the best for you :)

Hey guys, just to be clear...it was the same Qmote in the video and photo. In the video, it looks grey due to the dusky light and video definition while it's actually gold like you can see in the photo :)

Big thank you for the update(s)! I appreciate this open "communication". Keep 'em coming, even the geeky/techy ones!

Hi, I'd love to know more about the BLE chipset used and what the Qmote looks like inside. Also it would be great to see what the FCC testing procedure was like, I hear they have lots of cool rooms with antennas.

Can we have the sparks as an optional extra feature ? Maybe a theft deterrent ? :p
