A Story of Ancient China
In ancient China, the Wolf Tower was used mainly to alert soldiers of the danger of encroaching neighbors. Soldiers would burn the excreta of wolves to create a smoke signal atop the tower. Other towers would then be able to spot the smoke signal from afar, and then create their own smoke signal which would pass the message further along to the next tower, and so on.
Smoke is a signal!
In the modern world, people use mobile phones to communicate. We are inundated with social media notifications. At the end of the day, those notifications are just like the smoke signals rising from the top of the Wolf Tower - messages.
Easy to Use
The iScent requires only two steps to set up. First, open up and pair with the iScent App. Next, choose the app that you want to trigger your iScent from the list below. After setup, it isn’t required that the app run in the background, even after rebooting your phone. Just make sure the aromatic water in the tower doesn’t run dry!
- Incoming call
- text message
We understand that you all cool people won’t settle with smelling the ringtone only, so here is the Party Mode! Switch to the party mode, and you will have iScent blow off equalized mist as you speak, sing, or if you want to… scream!
In making our prototype, we have employed fused deposition modeling (FDM) to create iScent on a 3D printer. After printing, we install a rough circuit. A bluetooth module is used to control the atomizer and to communicate with an mobile phone. A button switch is used to simulate the Home button, and an amber LED displays the tower’s status.
Our tests have shown that the circuit works perfectly. Everyone on our team has an iScent on their desk, having integrated it into daily life. The practicality and entertainment provided by iScent is enjoyed by everyone.
A Classic Model
The Wolf Tower may be ancient Chinese history, but we’re keeping old traditions alive in making our model. We have made reference to many castles around the world and chosen one which is both classic and blends in well around the office and at home. We will require our manufacturer to conform with this requirement.
Current Situation and Timeline
iScent has been in development for a long time now. The software and the rough circuitry have been completed. The next step is to find a local channel by which to produce PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and develop a robust manufacturing infrastructure consisting of world-class craftsmen.

Risks and challenges
There are always significant challenges in manufacturing any hardware product in quantity.
Fortunately, we have established relationships with manufacturing partners in Taiwan that will help us bring the iScent to you.
