The team and I are incredibly excited as we are gearing up to start manufacturing, assembling and shipping out the first myIDkeys!
Unfortunately, the initial run of our polycarbonate cases did not pass our QA for acceptance testing. Our industrial designer has spent the last week testing the initial castings from the tool and die molds, checking for fit and function. We have already corrected key issues of fit by adjusting the molds, currently over 40 cavities.
We have a final issue with some leakage of the polycarbonate material with the lens area which is also polycarbonate in the tongue and groove surroundings. In order to solve this we are changing the mold slightly internally as well as we are adding ABS to the polycarbonate material. We expect this issue to be resolved in the next 10 days.
In regards to the boards, we have started producing them in QA controlled batches and will be running standard X-ray and flying probe tests, but more importantly conducting extreme heat and cold tests on the boards.
A new iOS build was sent to the App Store late last week. We’re hoping to get an approval notice this week.
A new Android build was sent to GooglePlay last week. We have noted that some users are experiencing issues taking photos on certain Android devices (e.g., Samsung Galaxy Tab 3). Please keep the feedback coming. We continue to fine-tune the app as we get input from our Kickstarters.
Thank you for your continued support.
