Beatdown is a co-op beat-em-up wrapped up in board-game format with a comic-book theme and a unique combo system at its heart. Every enemy brings a new challenge to the table, and every attack gives you a new way to plan your combo.

Push Your Luck And Manage Your Risks
Attack enemies with powerful combos built from your attack cards. With each card you play, the combo rating rises, making it harder to land your next blow. Push too far and your enemies can take advantage of your openings to strike back. But each attack is unique and can help you plan your curve, massage the odds, fix your mistakes or go for broke. It's your combo. Play it the way you want to play it.
Theme Meets Mechanics: Fighting Styles
Each hero comes with their own stats and special ability in addition to a limited attack deck that emphasizes their role and play-style. When you choose your hero, their cards are shuffled into the main attack deck that all players draw from. Want to play a more controlled, protected game? Play one of the wrestler heroes and help your friends shrug off the blows. Want to string together insane high-damage combos? Bring a boxer and watch the hits flow. Prefer manipulating the odds and getting tricky? We've got several kung fu heroes for you to choose from
Bad Guys and Bosses
At the start of the game, players choose a Boss that looms over the whole game. In addition to acting as the game's final encounter, the bosses each add their own rules the the game, forcing you to adapt your playstyle and strategies.
Boss Newman, who runs Piston City's most successful den slips an extra die to any "Low-Life" enemies when they attack. The Ringmaster brings back criminals from the brink of death for an encore. Reflecto the Brilliant bends perceptions and leaves you never quite sure who you're really fighting.
More-over each individual enemy threatens the heroes with his or her own critical attacks and special effects. Choose carefully how you divy up the damage! Picking the wrong first target can be the difference between success and defeat!
Better than a PDF, Beatdown features a fully searchable and linkable online rulebook made by the game's developer. Mobile friendly and easily shared, these online rules put the book in every player's hands simultaneously. A functional FAQ section allows players to directly ask questions or clarifications.
Risks and challenges
We want to ship a high quality game, both in components and gameplay. That means we WILL be doing a test print of the game and readjusting if we're not happy with the components. This may affect our ship date.
As far as finances, we aren't hiding any costs. This Kickstarter covers everything from printing to shipping to 10% returns. Art and design is done in-house. If this gets funded, it will get made. Guaranteed.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
