About this project
UPDATE: If we can reach $4000, I will throw in an extra Fishin' for Chickens poster or postcard to everyone who has donated $30 or more.
The STORY, set in rural Texas, revolves around Tyler, a simple-minded country boy who does everything within his power to prove to his father that he's a great fisherman. Tensions rise when Tyler unknowingly wanders onto his father's makeshift shooting range. As far as FUNDS go, I have secured $5,330 in-kind donations and am looking to raise $2,695, more specifically for certain props and costumes, key personnel, and the construction of a small wooden silo.
The PEOPLE involved in this film are hands-down the most talented I've worked with. Supporting actress Cyndi Williams was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead in 2005. The Director of Photography is Philip Roy, a highly sought after commercial director and winner of Best Cinematography at the Boston Film Festival in 2009.
This will be the ninth short film to have been written and directed by me, MARSHALL RIMMER, however it will be my first venture into making a truly cinematic film. My previous films have been structurally tight with solid content but I've yet to create a visually stunning short. I have screened my films at South by Southwest, Palm Springs International ShortFest, Chicago International Children's Film Festival, and over a dozen other film festivals throughout the nation. Additionally, my films have garnered over 12 million views online.
The 7-page SCRIPT is available upon request.
