About


Rose showcases artwork from children in the central Florida Community and features classic platforming with physics based game play. Rose will reinforce basic educational concepts like letters, shapes and numbers with easy to play game play and a simple story!

 "I initially made this game for my daughter Arielle Rose Morales, she turns 2 soon. My intention was to have educational video game ready for her by the time she is 3. I did something similar with my son Julyen last year with an educational board game for kids ages 3-5. As a young father I believe it is important to provide my kids with fun educational content." -Alejandro

This game is unique because it is one of the only games to take children's art and bring it to life. We are using 100+ custom cats and monsters from kids from the central Florida community and adding them into the game as NPC’s . During the development of Rose we are working closely with children to ensure this game is educational yet fun.

Implementing the art: During the production of rose we went through a few design changes with the custom kid drawings. they started as simple wall textures, then power up cards, then 3d characters and finally we decided the best way to incorporate all the kid drawings in the game would be to put them in as animated NPC characters doing various silly things like dancing, laughing and talking.

We have decided to use a deck of cards to determine what cats and monsters will be in what part of the game.

There are over 100 different cats and monsters that will be in this game!

 Above: This is the first demo of rose! this demo was made at the Orlando Science center back in January. As you can see we didn't have a main character. just a placeholder cat! platforming elements are in place and some cats are vectorized.

 Above: This is the second demo of rose! This demo was made in February/march. At this point i reached out to pascal and he created rose! This demo contained some random assets  the main focus was getting the player controller correct and the collision on point!

  Above: This is the 3rd demo of rose! This demo was made in march. At this point  we had a lot done! We were doing some testing for the player including such mechanics as wall jumping and double jumps. While it was fun for us this made the game a bit too complicated for kids so we took it out!

       Alejandro is our design lead. Focusing on multiple parts of the game Alejandro must wear lots of hats. He does everything from scripting to sculpting. This requires him to use both creative and logical ways to solve design problems. click the above image to see his tutorial on how to make video game characters!

      Pascal is our Art lead. He handles everything from character design to animation. As the art lead pascal oversees the visual cohesiveness of our game projects as well as the philosophy of branding.. Check out the image above for his tutorial on how to animate a video game character.

       Sean is our music lead. He produces all of our music and sound effects. As a well rounded producer Sean is able to create anything we need from 8 bit old retro tracks to futuristic hip hop fusions. check out his tutorial above on how to make video game music!

With a 4 month projected runway based on a $5200 budget. *Our $6,000 goal will have various platform fees and taxes taken out.

Where does my money go?

The  above budget is broken down into the following categories

Company: This section includes  various legal fees, software and other business related expenses.

Music: This section includes Musician Salary, and any sound effects, or equipment we need to buy

Art:This includes all art and animation assets as well as artist salary and art equipment.

Design:This includes designer salary, design assets and hardware upgrades.

Risks and challenges

Video Game development can be fun and rewarding just like any other mediums there are obstacles that arise during development. We are prepared for these challenged with a transparent game production plan. We are looking forward to updating our supporters on a regular basis with video podcast, blog entries and articles Rose is our first commercial project and it must be released within the quality standards we uphold ourselves to. We are sticking to our game design document which outlines the total development time allotted for this game. Our Ultimate goal is to release a fun educational game for kids and We refuse to let them down!
