What's the story?
You know those pesky chain letter emails that you get? "You'll meet the love of your life," "You'll have bad luck for 13 days," or other annoying claims clog your inbox. It's okay though! We can just delete them and go on with our lives. Right?
After a kiss from the girl of Shawn's dreams, he finds out that this isn't always the case. A mysterious, unseen force is causing Shawn's chain letters to come true and not all of them are good. We'll follow Shawn and his friends during their journey to find out what's causing these strange occurrences and save the world.
Basically, we're making a web series! We'll be using real chain letters that you forward to us to create absurd storylines that take Shawn's entourage from their apartment into the pits of hell and back again.
Cool, but who are you guys?
Oh snap! It appears that we have yet to introduce ourselves. We are Mo and Trezy of MoZy Archive. We make badass videos that interest and challenge us. This includes everything from VFX-heavy laser blasters to building huge explosions... and we really want explosions.
We currently have two larger scale projects completed. The first is a promotional video for the Humans vs Zombies organization at UW-Madison. Go ahead and give it a look right here:
The second is an epic battle between an enthusiastic video gamer and a student trying to study for finals. Check it out:
So... why should I give you my money?
We've been movie-making for a bit now and we're ready to take the next step forward, but finances tie our legs down. (WE'RE BROKE!) We need your help to even consider taking this further.
Where is this money gonna go? Here's the short list of things we need:
You might be thinking, "How on Earth are you guys going to afford all of that with only $2,000!?" The answer: the 99 cent store. The more money we make from this funding project, the better the production will be! $2,000 will get us the absolute minimum that we need to make this happen but if we make $3,000, $5,000, or eleventy billion dollars, we'll be able to make better fight scenes, bigger explosions, and buy everything we need to blow your mind.
The way this program works; it's an all-or-nothing deal. The only way this project will get off the ground is if you guys donate the minimum $2,000. If we have 200 people donate $10 each, we'll be ready to roll!
What else can I do to help?
You can get in on the action by forwarding your chain letters to email@example.com. We'll choose a few of your submissions to use in the series, so get creative! In addition to potentially having your chain letter featured, your name and email will be featured in the episode (unless you don't want us to)! Start sending us those chain letters!
Tell your friends!
We know a lot of people. You know a lot of people. I'm pretty sure that the people you know also know people. Make sure to tell them about the project! The more exposure we get, the more support we get. The more support we get,the bigger we can make it. Seriously, explosions.
There are a couple of reasons. First off, we need a camera. We have access to a few cameras but it's usually not guaranteed when we can get our hands on them.
Second, making a web series is a very expensive project. Here's a short list of things we have to buy:
All of our actors are working for free so we would love to be able to provide some food for them at the very least. We're already funding as much as we can out-of-pocket, but we need help to make this web series as great as we expect that it can be!
We'll be releasing every episode on YouTube, completely free to view! We may try to sell DVD sets as well after the entire series is complete but for now our only certain plans are to release the series on YouTube.
