Sounds like another kickstarter scam...I'm guessing our money is gone and we're screwed. This is the second and last film project I'll back...been screwed twice. Thanks're the best!

I heard anything for a while, how is DVD production going?

    4. Ben Nabors & Tom Rielly Creator on October 17, 2013

      Hi Peter --

Thanks for your note on our Kickstarter page. We are so very close to delivering these rewards! I really appreciate your patience and your support of our project, and apologize for these frustrating delays. We're nearly threw it. An internal release of DVDs to our community of supporters is our current approach, and as a supplement in the interim, we've been working on additional materials and bonus features that we will make available exclusively to this group. We're so grateful for this community and the help it has provided us. I'll share an update very soon, and we will be collecting current address. If you have any questions or want to communicate with me directly, feel free to write at Again, thank you so much for your patience. I know it's been a long road with our film.

I know the DVD was supposed to be timed with the widespread release of the film but at this point wouldn't it be best to just release the video to kickstarter backers? What's the internal cut off point? Closing on 2 years seems to be pushing it?

    6. Ben Nabors & Tom Rielly Creator on July 1, 2013

Hey Charlie -- Thanks for your question, and the kind words about our film! We're planning a big update very soon. As of now, our goal is to release the DVDs with the film's wide release so that we can still be eligible for larger awards within the film community. That said, if you would like to see the film earlier, I can let you know when it comes to a film festival near you. You can reach me directly at

      All Best,

Heyo congrats on the huge success!! Any idea on when we can expect the release of the DVDs?

      Hey Mike --

Thanks for checking in with us. To be honest, we've been huddled over our edit bays for the past several months, working away on the movie, and haven't come up much for air. Things have been focused and busy, but also very productive. I am excited to say that our completion date is *very* near. I didn't want to make a hasty post to our Kickstarter community, which is why I haven't sent out an update recently. A thorough post is on the way. Thank you for your support of our film, and we are excited to share the project with you and our backers!

It's been 2+ months since your last update. Can you give us your new target date for completing this project?

If you have not yet read the book "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind", get it today. I listened to the audiobook a couple of years ago and it had a profound impact on me. Mr. Kamkwamba is such an amazing person and any effort to get his story out to the world I am 100% behind. Best of luck to you!

I'm nearly speechless after watching the trailer. Just so incredibly moving and inspiring. Thank you for bringing this powerful story to the world.
