Outer Gods and Interlopers is a social deduction game where Cultists perform rituals to honor the great and powerful Outer Gods. A handful of investigators have infiltrated the cell and seek to subvert these unholy rites. The Cult Leader has become increasingly wary of his followers and has taken to sacrificing those who he suspects are not loyal.
Your objective as an Acolyte is to successfully complete enough rituals to summon forth your dark god. As an Investigator your team's goal is to sow enough discord throughout the cult to cause it's collapse and make it fail in its task.
You would have to be mad not to worship Outer Gods and Interlopers' modern day Lovecraftian horror setting!
Outer Gods and Interlopers' current production model will consist of multiple decks of cards that will fit nicely in an ultra portable tuck box.
Background Cards x 11
Identity Cards x 10
Component Cards x 38
Ritual Cards x 12
Ritual Success Cards x 8
Cult Leader Actions x 4
Here is a look at a streamlined round of play! This is only a quick glimpse, more fun details await!
1. Pass out identity and background cards to assign everyone to a team.
2. Give everyone a hand of 3 Component cards
3. The Cult Leader reveals a Ritual card. This Ritual card details which Primary and Secondary Component types are required to complete the ritual to score a point for the Acolytes and which Component type scores points for the Investigators.
4. Cultists contribute one component each to the ritual. Acolytes will want to do their best to fulfill the requirements of the Ritual card. Investigators will want to cause the ritual to fail, or even score points for themselves if they are brave enough. Be careful though, if the Cult Leader decides you can't be trusted they might decide you'd serve the cult better as a sacrifice!
5. The Cult Leader shuffles and reveals the contributed Components and resolves the Ritual card. Points are awarded, and if neither the Acolyte team or the Investigator team has reached their victory condition, a new ritual is revealed and a new round is played!

Lance "Undead Viking" Myxter - “This game is a heck of a lot of fun…It’s that game you come back to and tell others about the sessions you had because you had so much fun.”
Scott “Tox” Morris - Crits Happen: “Outer Gods and Interlopers adds some devilishly good strategies for those who love social deduction games. It’s one of my favorites in the genre and immediately struck me as a unique take on the formula that is both successfully pulled off and incredibly fun.”
Hunter Shelburne - Weapons Grade Tabletop: "This is the freshest take on a cthulhu game I've played, Outer Gods and Interlopers is a winner."
Bryan Beach - Pub Meeple: ”It's great when a game can add layers of player opportunity without raising the barrier of entry. The leader role provides a natural setting for learning a social deduction game while the rounds are concise and streamlined but deeper than the yes/no voting that is prevalent among its peers. Outer Gods is exactly the kind of game that sets a new standard for a genre of gaming.”
Michael Abrahamson - 10k Goblins Designer: “Outer Gods and Interlopers was by far the best social deduction game I've ever played. It immediately pulled me into the game and kept the tension ramping up right into the final round. I wasn't a fan of social deduction games, but for this one I'm a convert.”
Andrew “Munchkin Czar” Hackard: “Outer Gods & Interlopers is a great new twist on the classic 'spot the traitor' game. Plus, Cthulhu!"
Outer Gods simply does not get made without your generous support and faith in this project. We are a small independent game studio that wants to produce the best possible game for you.
While the primary mechanics of the game are in place and ready for play, the game itself still lacks quite a bit of art. We have partnered with the incredibly talented Chris Solis to create the rest of our character identities, which still need to be finished. We'd also love to be able to offer other graphical improvements to enhance the overall feel of the game.
Many of our campaign stretch goals have been developed with the thought of backer feedback in mind. Use your voice to help us create this dark and wonderful world. Help us create game mechanics and abilities that will have thousands of would be cultists across the world laughing maniacally!
We believe that the best campaigns are the ones ran with a lot of communication. We promise to provide weekly development updates as art and game assets are finalized and bi weekly updates thereafter. All backers of Outer Gods will always know the status of the project.
We are partnering with Panda Games for manufacturing. Games Quest will be handling all shipping and fulfillment services which will allow this project to ship anywhere in the world. Shipping charges will be collected after the campaign has concluded from a backer kit program.
It is our goal to have the game in all backers' hands by the second quarter of 2018.
Outer Gods and Interlopers it the debut project for us at Mothership Game Studios. We are incredibly excited to release this project and to showcase future ideas to you all.
Rick Perez - I am a lifelong gamer with a passion to introduce games to anyone who will sit long enough and hear me out. 1/2 Pro Wrestler and 1/2 Spoony Bard who also runs www.letslevelup.net.
Carlos Sanchez - When I first learned M:TG, my friends taught me the wrong way to play. Something seemed off, so that night I read the entire rule book twice and taught my friends the correct way to play the next day. That is the best way to describe my disease and why I am lots of fun at parties.
Bevan Dawson - I come from a background of video games and tabletop RPGs. I attended a local boardgame day after being invited by some friends, and have been hooked ever since. I love to see the way games are put together, and really enjoy innovative and elegant mechanics.
James Gibson - My thirst for competition and undying curiosity to understand the inner workings of the machine behind the curtain has translated seamlessly into a passion for gaming. As a socially awkward butterfly, tabletop gives me the perfect outlet to meet and interact with some of the most interesting people around.
