I would like a god dam update from you! I was scammed $400 from the zano project and it's starting to be the same with this project, I want a clear response from you saying when you will be shipping!
Heres the companies linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/company/3083055… I guess if nothing happens real soon, I suggest everyone just report them to the BBB (Better Business Bureaus). Since Kickstarter notoriously have their hands tied. Here is the link to the BBB (Better Business Bureaus) Scam Tracker.
https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker/us/reportscam
Here is an idea......since we can't get a response all 544 backers of this project could submit a ticket on their website, takes 5 minutes. maybe if we all did it everyday we might get a response
Wow, this is my 3rd campaign I get ripped off.. Can the company just come out and say "sorry backers we failed you, we won't refund you but we wanted to say that instead of having you all wait". I will be happy with that response, just own up to this failed project.
I get it, it's new tech, never been done before. But when u launched this idea u had to have some sort of idea about this. I'm not mad i am disappointed. I'm asking u just send whatever u got, I'm tired of looking on this app for an update of some sort. I don't care if it's half assembled or just the battery. Hell send me a blank doc with a letter head. I am an alpha backer, I just want to be done with the project. To many deadlines have come and gone. I honestly doubt I'll even wear the damn thing. It's a failed project I just want to salvage what respect I have left for Mota. I've watched he updates from day one. Good idea. Terrible execution.
Shame on me for believing in kickstarter or Mota. You guys have proven the old PT Barnum saw, "there's a sucker born every minute." Apparently for you crowd funding = easy, digital, anonymous theft. Do us a solid and send refund instructions.
It's a shame it looked like you had some good products and ideas but concepts coming to fruition is exhausting as we wait impatiently well beyond the due date. My banking info has changed if refund is possible send me a certified check or money order. This is seriously disappointing. Mota what it could have been. Diligence is the key to success and it seems to be lack there of.
hi, since backing this project i have moved house and the address i originally gave is no longer available to me. are you able to tell me how to change my mailing address please?
They are actually delaying to make people be impatient and ask fro refund.Because initially they underestimated the costing and everything. Now they will be in big lose since lots of people just paid 60/70 bucks for a ring and moth doesn't want to admit that.So we will be impatient and will ask for refund and they will just be able to get ride of us.Secondly they are way behind the schedule that's why they have no response.
Ok patience is running out. What's the deal here.? I purchased two and would like to know when I can finally get them. Some input please for businessman ship sake.
I dont understand why your showing off a prototype at CES when you should have a production unit already. That is based off your comments and the updates
this is getting to be a joke, it was CES last year where you did a demo of the prototype.
in the last year we have had only a few update, that all say it is almost done.
all we ask is that you give us a full update and a timeline that you think you can make work.
Please provide instructions for refund or at least have the courtesy to respond and let us know whether you ever intend to process refunds for those who want them.
We received great feedback CES 2016 Las Vegas earlier this month from attendees, including backers, on our prototype of the DOI SmartRing. Please know we’re hard at work on it. Again, thank you for your patience.
I just see the latest updates, good jobs MOTA, even it is not exactly as the original design, the concept are excellent. I am excited to see it becomes reality and can be the first group to test it.
@Creator I understand how hard it is to work with such a small area. This latest update doesn't look like your original campaign proposal. It appears very much bulkier and I dont see it being comfortable to wear.
I just want to make sure that MOTA will be delivered and will work as said. I don't believe you would misguide us but after I supported zano ( a mini drone) on kickstarter I'm a little hesitant on the other projects that I have backed.
I still believe in this, but I just want to make sure that a project doesn't go in the direction of zano ( liquidation)
Thank you so much for your comment. We really appreciate it and I certainly pass it to engineers. I do want to clarify the following items, however, so that we are keeping our expectation reasonable since at the end of the day we are limited by what technology can deliver today:
- The ring is using the smallest touch-screen surface in the world. This is the size that is used in some military projects, smaller than this simply does not exist. - Screen size on the side, the "curve" on the screen screen is one thing, but making it “touch-screen” is another which is close to impossible task. Even the high-end large curved TV-Screens (that are not touch-screen enabled) have an extremely small curve angle because there is a limitation of LCD/LED material; now if we take 0.3inch of that surface, it would seem as flat because the angle is very small. This is because of the technology limitation that exists in the industry, not because of how the ring is designed.
- There are thousands of components that need to be integrated into the ring. From the micro PCBA board to defining every single pixel on the screen, making sure battery stays connected, the tiny cable that runs the power to PCBA,etc; all these components must all fit in an extremely tiny space, and the shell must be thick enough to stay intact and hold them in place.
We are bringing this to your attention because this ring is an extremely engineered piece. It is easy to say or tag it with various words, but when it comes to actually building a unique piece that has never existed on the planet before, it is not an easy task. If it was, it would have been in the market already.
Wow! Seeing the ring working is fantastic. My daughter is happy to wait for her Christmas present. Well done team Mota and please keep the updates coming, you have our support.
@creator the lack of communication is pretty disappointing. From going from an update about "mass production" to nothing in months is getting highly sus.
This is the most disappointing project that I have backed. I don't understand why you cannot provide an update in three months. There should be no reason why a refund cannot be processed either. Horrible.
Team MOTA I would not have backed you if I didn't believe you could do it. I share others enthusiasm to see this completed and get my hands on the finished product. Would you mind doing a quick YouTube to show the product so far?
Before anyone points it out, we did have a May update with some images of an early alpha ring, but these were not detailed, working or contextual, so of little use.
As I said, I'm enthusiastic and fully behind your incredible creation. I just wish I knew what it looked like or did, as you are now in the first stages of mass production.
The majority of us fully understand that this isn't Amazon and this is a place where we help fund visions we believe in. Getting our rings when they are completed are our 'Thank-You' for our investments. That is not an issue at all. What we'd like is some actual news of progress. You said that there are things to be ironed out. We understand and fully support you in that, but we'd like just a little bit of information about what is happening, as you have alpha devices but we don't know anything about them. The only images we have are of a prototype from the beginning of the campaign. I'm looking forward to a proper update for us, your investors, that actually keeps us in the loop. We want this to be a success nearly as much as you do. We may even be able to help.
Good luck. We've got your back, but please do share how it is going.

for me it's not about the project failing to deliver, this is kickstarter and some project fail.
the problem is the lack of clarity.
they keep giving us a "almost done" message every few months, and then nothing.
as I said before, this is a scam.
if the project creators feel that I am wrong, then prove it.
