About this project
Nightmarium is a fast game about combining body parts to complete surreal creatures and trigger their spine-chilling powers. But beware, these creatures are unstable and hostile, and they often escape the dreamers’ control—only to attack one another or even disintegrate. Yet only with their help you can achieve victory and become the ultimate Master of Terror!
Nightmarium is already a hit in Russia and Eastern Europe with 13,000 copies sold in 2015. Help us launch Nightmarium internationally and be among the first to get the English version of this beautifully illustrated game.
For centuries, the scholars of the Order of Dreamers have explored the limitless expanses of the human dreamscape. They journeyed across the hilly plains of Slumber, swam the waves of Languorous Sleep, descended into the caves of Hypnosis, and even made their way to the land of Secret Desires.
Only one corner of the dreamworld remained off limits to them: the Nightmarium, populated by gruesome Night Terrors; fragments of human bad dreams.
Ages passed, and the learned mediums from the Dream Research Institute—the keepers of the ancient dreamlore—have now mastered the art of subduing the Night Terrors and using them to create fantastic monsters.
At last, the heart of the Nightmarium—the pulsating Crystal of Panic—can be reached. Now it’s time to face your terrors and become the ruler of the Nightmarium itself!
- 108 cards of monster parts
- 4 reference cards with a brief description of monster abilities
- “Classified” leaflet
- Summary explaining how to create monsters and use their abilities
The Nightmarium box contains 108 unique and beautifully illustrated cards that players will combine to assemble various terrifying Creatures. A complete Creature consists of one of each of the three Body Parts: legs, a torso, and a head.
Each Body Part card features an icon to indicate which part of a Creature it can become. Most cards can be used as only one specific body part, while others can be used as as one of two or even three parts.
Each body part belongs to one of the four Legions of Horror: Necronauts, Insektoids, Homunculi, and Chimeridae.
During your turn you perform two actions, after which the next person to your left takes his turn. You can select any pair of actions out of three possibilities (you can also perform the same action twice).
- Take a card from the deck to your hand
- Discard as many cards as you like from your hand and take half that number from the deck
- Play a card from your hand and activate a Creature abilities (if the Creature is complete).
As soon as you complete a Creature (by adding a head to torso), perform all of its abilities top to bottom, starting with the Creature's head, proceeding with its torso, and ending with its legs. Abilities are activated one at a time in a very specific order. You cannot refuse to perform the abilities.
Once you assemble a Creature (complete with a head, a torso, and legs), immediately perform all of its abilities top to bottom, one at a time. Be prepared for the consequences!
The game continues until one of the players completes five Creatures, this player immediately wins the game.
You will need to strike a perfect balance between racing to assemble the five victorious creatures and saving some of the most powerful parts and abilities for the right moment. Use your cards wisely to steal parts of enemy monsters, or even destroy your opponent’s creature and lay waste to their plans!

Risks and challenges
We should not experience difficulty in production or printing as we have lots of experience on the board game market.
Nightmarium is already released in Russia. The only possibility of delays can occur with editing the card design according to the feedback we receive from reviews, and optimising the game box for international delivery.
