The Next Big Thing!

Posted by Stephanie Bryant (Creator)

The next big thing I'm working on is a project with Toby Strauss, who you may remember wrote the Electric Avenue setting for Threadbare!

Toby is finishing up Jinkies!, his RPG of Saturday morning mystery cartoon hijinks! Inspired by 70's and 80's cartoons like Scooby Doo and Gem and the Holograms, Jinkies! lends itself to great comedic moments and over-the-top silliness at the table. It's another good one with kids and families. A special ed teacher by day, Toby is writing in rules for "mathless" and "low-reading" players so everyone can enjoy this game.

I'm serving as project manager on this one, taking the lessons I've learned from other projects, including Threadbare, and helping to support this great idea.

The Quickstart is available to all backers, and if you'd like to see it in action, I ran a game of it last weekend, which you can check out on YouTube!

Please check it out, back it if it sounds like fun, and reshare the link even if it's not your cuppa tea!

Another Gen Con Correction!

Posted by Stephanie Bryant (Creator)

Sorry, folks! I misread the map! The IGDN Booth, where you can find me on Thursday and Friday, and Threadbare all weekend, is #2545, not #2549. Booth 2549 is where you can find Indie Press Revolution, which also has many excellent independent games. And while IPR carries Threadbare online, they won't have it at Gen Con this time around.

So remember: Find booth #2545 for IGDN and Threadbare!

And all the official Threadbare events are in ICC, room 239, so if you're looking for a game, try there!

Indie Groundbreaker Nomination and a Gen Con correction

Posted by Stephanie Bryant (Creator)

Threadbare is an Indie Groundbreaker Nominee!

Threadbare was nominated for the Indie Groundbreaker Awards for best setting and best game! This is a big honor, and I am very flattered to be in some very tall company!

The Indie Groundbreaker Awards are at the IGDN Social at Loughmiller's Pub in Indianapolis at 6 PM EDT on August 1 (the Wednesday before Gen Con). I'll be there!

Gen Con Correction

I made a mistake in my Gen Con schedule announcement last week-- the Friday game is at 8 PM, not 9 PM. Those times are all in the Eastern (Indianapolis) time zone, of course.

And a Sneak Peek

Deal of the Day! Also: Gen Con News!

Deal of the Day!

Threadbare RPG is DriveThruRPG's Deal of the Day today! For 24 hours, the PDF is discounted to $5.40. Spread the word!

Gen Con

Threadbare is going to Gen Con! There are games Thursday at 10 AM, Friday at 9 PM, and Saturday at 12 noon, hosted by IGDN! All three are sold out, but sometimes people don't show up, so if you have free time and want to jump in on a game, pop on by!

I'll also be at Gen Con this year! I'm staffing the IGDN booth (#2549) on Thursday and most of Friday.

On Thursday at 6 PM, I'm participating in the awesome Contessa game night, where I'll be running a playtest of my next game, Last Monster on Earth. Contessa events are always amazing, and this year they have taken over a large space at the Lucas Field Stadium, with open gaming and theme nights!

On Friday at 2 PM, I'm a panelist on Playing Tabletop Games Online with Roll20. This will be a great panel about playing online with Roll20 (I know-- twist ending!)

On Saturday, I'm playing games! I know-- shocking!

If you are at Gen Con and want me to sign your book, just grab me when I'm not in the middle of something, and I'm happy to sign! If I'm staffing the IGDN booth, please wait until I've helped customers finish transactions, but I will be happy to sign when I have a free minute.

News of Threadbare and of Stephanie

Awesome Shoutouts!

With Threadbare now available via IPR, it's starting to appear in local game shops! ENWorld has noticed!

IPR is currently out of stock, but I've ordered a batch of 100 copies to be printed and shipped to them soon. They should be back in stock in a couple of weeks.

And Pop Culture Uncovered mentioned Threadbare in their Tabletop Tuesday: Games written by women article! I am so honored to be included with such amazing designers!

Exciting Personal News

As some of you may know, I've been in and out of work for the past year. I'm a Scrum Master/project manager, which can be a great job, but is also something that doesn't have a high churn rate.

Well, a month ago, I was hired at my dream job, and am now the Scrum Master (with a few other hats) at Roll20!

One of the exciting things about this is that it brings me into a new area of the gaming industry that I hadn't been in before. It also encourages me to poke around at writing a Roll20 character sheet for Threadbare. The character sheet tools are something I'd like to learn more about, and what better way than with a system I know so well.
