A causal puzzle game, set on an Asteroid Base. Hack into people's brains and destroy the robotic virus that enslaves their minds!
About this project
imprint-X is a causal puzzle game for desktop and mobile, containing 100 uniquely crafted puzzles to solve where you hack and click your way to defeat the mysterious robotic Wardens.
The awakening
One day an AI woke up on an Asteroid Base. It sent out swarms of Nano Bots that attacked the people of the base, flew into their world and infected them with just a glance, planting Wardens in their minds. A robotic virus raged!
You've been sent so save the Asteroid Base!
The Wardens enslave the people! You are one of the hacker clones, saving people by hacking into their brains and defeating Wardens.
Button based puzzles
At the release the game will include 5 people to save. Their brains are enslaved by a robotic virus.
Every brain is infected with about 15-20 Wardens each. Every Warden is a level with a button puzzle for the player to unlock.
A brain is one world.
To defeat a Warden the player has to click the Warden's buttons in the correct sequence. Clicking uses function() calls. You only have a set amount of functions per level.
The Wardens contains many different puzzle combinations including memory, timer, timing, forming patterns, matching and more.
Because we love buttons
Some puzzles are easy and chill, and some are harder. We wanted to make a causal game that is fun to play. And we love pressing buttons! Hope you do too!
When you've managed to save one brain, the next world is unlocked with new Wardens.
Bosses
Every brain will include 1 or more bosses to fight! The boss gameplay resolves around timing a circle and a box. When they overlay the player has to click to unlock a pattern.
The 6th world will be a procedurally generated boss level, with endless boss fighting!
Unlock next world
To unlock the next world the player needs to beat the world boss. The boss is unlocked when the player has gathered X points. Every Warden defeated gives 0-3 points depending on how many function() calls the player has used. Every Warden is re-playable, meaning that the player can get a better score if playing again.

The game got greenlit a couple of months ago, so imprint-X is also coming to Steam!
We're aiming to release imprint-X pretty soon, probably this autumn!
We've gotten quite far with the development and worked on the game since december 2015 and now got an alpha ready!
We're developing the game in Unity and for now we have around 50 levels, most of the UI (as well as the options settings) is in place, the code structure is ready, we have an intro and most of the art, the 6h world with endless boss game-play is also almost finished.
And now? We need to design more puzzle levels and polish the game as well as tweaking the boss gameplay, fixing bugs and some UI issues.
And the art style? Yeah, we love pixelart and imprint-X therefor is a 2D-game filled with super nice pixels! We use a combination of pixelart, Lightening, shaders and gloom.
imprint-X will be released for mobile and desktop at the same time.
The couple Morgondag; Vendela Carlberg Larsson and Kim Aarnseth
We met in Stockholm 2012 and fell in love. We were both creative people. We both painted and designed. Kim also coded stuff and have a long programmer background. Vendela on the other hand wrote poetry and worked on several theater projects.
One day we decided to create something together so we merged our different skills; games came out from that.
So, we began to make games, something neither of us had done before. We made many prototypes and minor games, our company Morgondag grew out from that and in 2013 we began to make our first bigger title; RymdResa. A game that we released on Steam in 2015.
Now our passion is our studio Morgondag and game development. Help us take over the world with our games by funding us! With your help we can work much faster! We need your support!
The music in imprint-X is made by the very talented sound designer and composer Tom Croke. You should totally check out his webpage over here.
Risks and challenges
There isn't that many risks with this project. Only time. The game is almost finished, With your funding help, there is hopefully only 3-4 months of development left. Without the funding the development will take longer time.
However there's is a possibility that the mobile version will be somewhat delayed. But we'll do everything in our power to get the game out on both platforms at the same time.
